20 Best Youth Wood Bat (2022 Updated)

This bat and any other wood bat that Marucci makes are awesome… as for the sticker issue that Mike was having, dude it’s called use a blow dryer for 10-15 seconds and it peels right off. But I do like the Peter “Grinds my Gears!”LOL These bats do have more pop than any BBCore out there.

Perfect for HighSchool kids getting ready for the next level. If you wanna make it to the pros you have to use the bats the pros use. You didn’t see McGuire using a 34” Meta. Also for the guys that are breaking them, need to know how to swing a wood bat.

Find the grain and stop jamming yourself and this bat will last a long time.

This bat broke during the first week of use. We bought another while we waited for Marucci to honor the warranty and the same exact thing happened with the other bat. Paying $175 for a bat that breaks during the first tournament used is crazy and then for the same exact thing to happen after purchasing another, there’s something wrong with the quality of this bat.

Marucci did send us two new bats, but I’m guessing they’re not going to last long. My son is 17 and has been playing baseball for years, we’ve never had a wood bat break so easily.

Bought this bat for my 6yr old about a month ago. Initially he was having some difficulty adjusting due to the weight increase but once he adapted it was game over. He will be 7 in October and hits 200 ft shots with this bat.

The secret is reps. I recommend this bat for any youngster looking to hit big shots to the green.

Just got the bat in two days ago for my 12 yr old son. Soft tossed in the cage day one. Day two at practice hit 2 out 6 pitches over and one middle of the fence. This bat is incredibly hot! Highly recommend.

These are by far hottest bat in usa drop 11 and 5 beat all hybrids one piece one piece composite they are hot hot fire next after them is select series then maxum ultra they are 9 and 12 mph behind you don’t always get what u pay 4.

Unfortunately they are hideous looking w smaller barrel and sweet spot. W a little practice they hit bombs the usssa version are top 3 for alloy only composite is getting dangerous. Hopefully stringking takes note of there success and fixes there usssa and usa line bbcors are fire.

Great bat, excellent pop. No break in period like with composite. Half my sons team now uses the bat. Only drawback was the white tape on the handle which was nasty after two games on the dirt.

Has been great for my 5-6 yr old son quick adjustment from the 2 1/4 barrel to this 2 5/8. Good balance. Has been hitting solid hard line drives. Even with bad contacts the balls he has been hitting comes out good.

I bought a demarini for my then 12yo son playing travel ball, had great pop right out if the wrapper, used for 1 month and then cracked in several places, so they sent me a voucher for replacement. We waited for this Meta to come out to use the voucher.

Once again great pop right out of the gate, literally the first tournament of summer, second game, he hit a ball and it sounded odd, so we checked it out after he came off the field. Sure enough the bat had a long crack down the barrel.

Im upset because we pay a lot of money for these bats, and the quality of them should match that! So now we are just out of a bat and money, because I can’t send a replacement bat back! My son is upset because he was hitting great with this bat! And I don’t have another $400 to buy him another bat! Please fix this issue so I don’t regret buying my son good bats from you guys!.

Company is more worried about new bat sales to turn profits instead of honoring those that previously fell victim to the DeMarini hoax (CF breaking within MONTHS of original purchase). After my son and I realized that the voucher was good for the LS Meta- it was a no-brained as we will never buy/use anything DeMarini again.

Too many issues with the CF from too many youth athletes! So here comes the Meta to save the day- BUT, it’s going on 3 months that there aren’t any available online (even when we sign up for “re-stocked” email notifications).

Had to buy a NEW bat (went with conventional CAT8 for its durability while we wait and to use for BP). The kicker is- we can walk into Dick’s and they have Meta’s in stock but can’t honor our voucher.

So what’s the point?? Kid (now 11) is almost in tears because you send new bats to retail stores to purchase at full price but won’t send a kid a replacement?? Bad for business because both DeMarini and LS rely on positive word of mouth “advertising” from these kids, and parents.

the cheapest form of advertising. Would love to rate this bat for its performance but customer service and dependability are JUST as important to these guys that are playing competitively! Absolute shame!.

Bought the 31″ for my 12 yo son with the 31″ 125 ash. The handle is natural wood, no stain or paint. The maple is a harder than the ash and less forgiving. Just about any ball not hit on the sweet spot leaves hands stung.

It has better pop than the ash though. It is really good at teaching batters to hit off the sweet spot. I also have much less fear of this breaking even on mishits although it is wise to take the time and practice the right techniques of hitting with the correct side of a wood bat.

This was my son’s first maple bat. He did not like it at first as he has used several ash bats before and the difference in feel is very noticeable. That being said, his teammates really like it better than the ash one.

They have hit several out in practice and have started to use it in games. I was surprised that the Louisville Slugger logo was sticker while the end was engraved. It seemed not aligned with the grain as well as the logos usually are.

There was no ink dot, but they may not be done on youth bats. The only wear has been the golden tape midbat has started to peel off. Anyways, it is a nice bat at thirty five dollars. Like I said, teammates have started to use it and I believe that one will order his own.

This bat is top notch. Playing in a wood bat league and having a quality piece of lumber with a one year guarantee is awesome. I have always bought DeMarini bats for my summer wood bat teams. It’s pricy but I have seen trash cans full of $60 bats in the dugout.

Excellent way to start into the wood bats. This is a great bat for BP and intro into wood bats. We had an old Demarini Dx110 passed down to us. This bat has more pop and great warranty. My Dad likes the warranty.

Look know further than Demarini.

My son is 11 playing travel baseball. I believe that this bat is one of the best practice bats for youth players. Slightly heavier than USA bats, smaller sweet spots. However when a player hits the sweet spot it definitely creates more pop than any USA bat.

And it’s so durable and cheap. I also use this bat for fielding practice. Easy to hit outfield.

Bats showed up in terrible condition due to shipping damage. Scratched dented and chipped. They won’t do anything about it, won’t respond, and won’t post these reviews.

This bad exceeds All my expectations! This is a good lightweight bat and the hundred a warranty makes me confident that the whole team can use it without having to worry about it breaking.

Unfortunately, I think lots of folks nowadays just don’t know how to hit with an ash bat. Ash bats don’t break in the cage if you’re holding them right and being semi smart about inside pitches. It’s funny, because when I talk to kids today about hitting with wood bats they don’t even know what the “trademark” is, or why it’s places where it is.

Even kids who don’t know how to hit with a wood bat don’t break the bats once they understand how to hold it. They aren’t metal bats folks. They aren’t two piece composite. They are wood bats. They have open grain compared to maple.

If you hit them on the weak grain they’ll break. If you hit them on the tight grain they’ll almost always last a long, long time.

I loved this bat it was my second time purchasing it. It broke within the first day of using it, off of a perfectly fine it. I am disappointed in Louisville as the quality continues to go down with each new bat I get.

I bought the standard 30$ ash bat last month and it immediately broke. I will no longer be purchasing from Louisville and im saddened by this as they were always great bats in the past.

My son got this for a Christmas present. It did not have a whole lot of pop that he was hoping for, but he still liked it a lot. He even hit a walk off home run with it. However, the first bat broke apart after about two months.

DeMarini replaced it, but I had to pay the shipping. The second bat broke in less time than the first. I’m hoping they will do the right thing and replace it with a different model, however, I’m having a very hard time with their customer service answering the phone or returning messages.

Good bat for youth player. Helps practice batting using a little heavier bat. Kids love the wood bat. Makes them feel like a pro.

My 13U son hit over. 500 this season and still hit many home runs, deep gap doubles, and lead the team in RBIs. Kids with end loaded bats were whiffing against higher level tournament pitching. This bat has plenty of pop and a balanced swing weight for optimum control.

Not just for contact hitters! Why not hit for average and power?.

My son loves the Solo. IMO it’s the best one piece alloy USSSA bat line on the market. Balanced swing with tons of pop out of the wrapper. Less vibration on mis-hits than more expensive bats with anti vibration tech.

I always buy direct from LS because I have been burned by DOA out of spec bats from third party vendors.

Bought this for my 8yo when his Easton maxum cracked. Great feel and pop out of the wrapper. Largest sweet spot of any bat we’ve measured. Very minimal stinging. Maxum warranty came in the mail a month ago and he decided to stick the solo JBB.

4 other kids started using it with very positive results. Highly underrated and solid bat.

My son loves this bat! It has a really nice sweet spot. There are other guys on the team that “borrow” his bat all the time, so I can say that we would recommend this bat to others.

My son just loves this bat it is just the right size for him being a beginner in little league.

This bat is a huge hit. The only problem is that my entire team wants to use it now, so I’ll have to replace it soon. For the price, I guess I can replace it every few months, so not that big a deal.

My only complaint is that at only 26 ounces, it is a little too light for when I want to go deep. Still, a great bat for just getting the ball over the infield and landing in the no-man’s land between short and center-left (or second and center right if you are a lefty).

My son is 7 and plays Little League. Most of the bats available online are not LL eligible. I purchased this one for him and have been very pleased. It has nice pop and he has adjusted to it really well.

This is a great bat for the money.

My son just moved up to 13u and plays on a majors team. He is not really a power hitter and had hit 6 home runs as a 12 year old. First tournament using this bat, he hit a bomb over center field. This was on a high school field too.

I highly recommend this bat. He also has the coveted 2017 Demarini Zen -5, but he will not put the new Easton down now.

This bat is amazing. My is 7 and out of the wrapper this bat had plenty of pop and he loved the feel. He has the CF Zen and the Marucci Cat Composite, and he like the feel of this one more. In his and my opinion this bat has more pop than both.

The bat is also more than half the price of those two bats.

Great bat all the way around. My youngest son just started travel ball winter practice and loves it.

This bat is nearly perfect. I own nearly 30 bats from multiple companies, different turn models, different cupping options, different wood types. only 2 are 32 inch models, the rest are 33. Keep in mind, they are MLB grade ink dot marked and plenty are pro player models.

The WSKP11 BIRCH is at the top of the mountain. I have the maple version as well. The birch model is lighter than the maple, but has just as much juice and a slight flex that supersedes the mass loss.

Very forgiving barrel, excellent whip, loud sound and just gorgeous design. Ball jumps off this thing. NO BREAK IN REQUIRED! This birch is hot out of the box guys. Only thing I wish it had would be the patented Bonesaber knob.

Has a nice full barrel to drive the ball. Not as end loaded as I thought it would be, but thats good since it’s exactly how I like it. On swing tests and EV tests it hits all of the marks. Both my son and myself were hitting comparable numbers to BBCOR bats.

The handle and knob have a really nice taper. Bat has a good feel good getting it through the zone. Weather is too bad to test it on a field. But I expect it to perform well, if not will update this later.

Purchased a new Warstic Pro Reserve wood bat. After one round of batting practice the bat had dents in it. Contacted customer service and was told there was nothing they could do for me. Company apparently does not stand behind their product and has horrible customer service.

I purchased this for my sons Birthday, it showed up after the first day of a tournament. He has been struggling lately so I let him open it and use it the second day of the tournament. He broke out of his slump with fire! He hit a shot to center through the outfielders to the fence.

This bat definitely has great pop. It was very well balanced and hit just as good or better than the cat7 he was using. We will definitely go with Warstic in the future.

My son is 10 and is in his third year playing competitive ball. Last year he played with a Cat 8 and he hit it well at times. We had the opportunity to visit the Warstic facility in Dallas in September and after hitting a few balls and experiencing the way the ball exploded off the bat, he immediately asked for his next bat to be a Warstic.

We ordered a Hawk2 for him and he has been hitting it ever since we got it in November. When I asked him why he hits his Hawk2 instead of his other bats, he said because it “just feels different. ” As a parent, I can say that I can see his confidence and excitement for the season build every time he steps up to the plate.

While I won’t say this is exclusively because of the bat, I can say with confidence that his desire to “battle” and put in the extra work has continued to grow as he sees the improvements he has made.

The ball just comes off this bat different and I am excited for the upcoming season. I do not see us using any other bat company in the foreseeable future.
