A yoyo is a toy consisting of an axle with a disk at each end, typically with string looped around the axle. The yoyo is thrown and then allowed to spin at the end of the string before being caught again.
Yoyos can be used for a variety of tricks, such as sleeping, walk the dog, rock the cradle, and around the world. Tricks are usually performed by holding the yoyo in the hand and manipulating the string to create different patterns and shapes.
Butterfly is the original, wide body/flared shape yo-yo and is the best-selling string trick yo-yo of all time. Designed for beginner yo-yo players learning basic string tricks, Butterfly features a wide string gap and steel axle that makes landing the yo-yo on the string much easier.
It’s durable plastic body and bright colors have made Butterfly a favorite toy for kids of all ages for over 60 years. Recommended Age: 6.
Get Ready to Throw: Let Butterfly hang to the floor. Tie a loop in the string at the level of your belly button. Cut off extra string. Pull string up through loop to make the slip knot that holds the Butterfly tight to your middle finger. Wind the string slowly and loosely around axle until it catches, then wind tight. With your palm facing up, the string should go over the top of the Butterfly. To throw: Make a muscle with your throwing arm. Extend your arm straight out in front of you with force. Release the Butterfly with your palm facing up. Turn your palm over to catch. Throw hard and be sure not to twist your palm over until after you release the Butterfly. If you stop your arm before it reaches the bottom of the string, you’ll have a sleeper – the basis of most advanced tricks. Replacement Supplies: Be sure to replace string often. To build your skills, study the Duncan Trick Book and Instructional DVD. Tutorial videos and replacement parts are also offered at: yo-yo.com.

Never gets bored playing with an old fashioned toy. Brings so many memories of my childhood. So happy I bought this yo-yo, and considering on buying one more in different color. Duncan yo-yo is made of great plastic materials for longer durability.
5 minutes after I got it, it stopped doing the sleeper, which is the only thing it has to consistently do. Someone, the bearings locked and now it only goes up and down. I never dropped it, or messed with it in any way.
It worked normally for the first several tries, then just stopped sleeping and never fixed. Very disappointing.
Product of good quality However no option to select color and states color may vary. Photos are only of the blue one. When I contacted to ask if I could exchange for the advertised color the response was that the add states color may vary.
No recognition of my request to exchange. No effort to make customer happy to make the sale.

It has a smooth fixed center axle- which your cotton string goes around.

Loved that your staff selected the colour we asked for AND gave us some matching lollies, and little note from the Packing Elf. And the product got to us on time in the last week before Christmas. WELL DONE ON ALL OF THAT.
Love to support local, NZ companies. I made an effort to buy local this year – important to look after our businesses. The Yoyo is above the capabilities of our 2. 5 year old, but this is ok and she can grow into it.
It is what she asked for from Santa so it was important for Santa to deliver this year – encouraging the belief in magic and all that. Thanks heaps, Mum & Dad of 2. 5 year old.
These are wonderful options for Operation Christmas Child boxes. But, I did leave mine in the original packaging so that the instructions were available. Nice selection of colors. Thankful for the great price, too.
Find it hard to believe this is actually a Duncan. It’s impossible to wind and if you do actually manage it the string is all kinked and twisted making it very hard to use. Avoid!
Yomega’s Superb Beginner to Intermediate Looping YoYo! The Yomega Fireball is the Yo-Yo that started the revolution in play. With it’s patented transaxle system, the Fireball allows for spins that are over 3 times longer than an ordinary Yo-Yo.
The transaxle system uses a special axle sleeve to reduce friction and increase spin. With this system, players can progress to tricks once thought impossible. The Fireball has been around a long time, but it is still the standard starter looping YoYo due to its great design and playability!.

Bought 5 of these Yomega Fireball YoYos as party favors for my son’s birthday. What a hit! The kids just loved them, and I enjoyed playing with them too being I was pretty good with a YoYo back in the day! Excellent quality – cool colors and graphics, and most importantly.
EASY to master some neat tricks. Yes – stand 6 feet apart while doing ‘Around the World’! I highly recommend these Yomega Fireball YoYos for any age group – good old fashioned fun with a modern feel.
No buttons – no wires -no batteries – and so reasonably priced. Get some for your next party – and sneak in an extra for yourself! AWESOME!.
I ORDERED THIS YO-YO FOR MY GRANDSON. JUST AS SOON AS IT CAME IN THE MAIL, HE STARTED ON ROUND THE WORLD, AND WALK THE DOG, AND WITH THE HELP OF THE DVD INCLUDED, IT DIDN’T TAKE HIM NO TIME AT ALL, TO BE ABLE TO DO BOTH LIKE A PRO.
OUR CHURCH IS WORKING ON A TALENT SHOW IN THE NEAR FUTURE, AND I THINK HE MAY ENTER IT WITH HIS YO-YO TRICKS. THE SIMPLE THINGS ARE STILL WHAT REAL LIFE IS ALL ABOUT. THANK YOU FOR SUCH A GOOD PRODUCT, AT AN AFFORDABLE PRICE.
It is for more experienced yo-yo-ers. My children needed the Brain to learn from but they are doing great with the Fireball! Fun for the whole family! Brings me back to my childhood! Thank you!

Picked this up as a gift for should who specifically asked for a Black one, which is what was selected and ordered at full price $40 as there are none available in stores. Item arrived in a different colour.
Escalated but Mastermind wouldn’t do anything about it.
It super responsive to do anything on it you have to change the axle and bearing its so responsive that its pads grabs better then most of my looping yoyo’s It vibrates so much But Its super smooth the finish is so smooth So its a “pro” starter yoyo.
The YoYoFactory DV888 is the result of a long-time mission: to create a quality METAL yoyo everyone can perform tricks on. In order to accomplish this goal, YoYoFactory transferred all of the revolutionary technology from our premium metal Yo-Yos into a very simple and comfortable design.
The DV888 is composed of high-grade 6061 aluminum for durable performance, a smooth anodized surface, a half SPEC bearing for long spins, and the same silicone pad response for snappy returns to the hand and maintenance free play.
Whether it’s your first metal Yo-Yo or your go-to Yo-Yo for the next major performance, the DV888 will not disappoint!.
The WHiP is back in an entirely new form! This all new version of the WHiP comes with a slim lubricated bearing for responsive performance, a pre-shortened string, and at an unbelievable price point.
Never before have you been able to add a quality YoYoFactory ball bearing yo-yo to your collection at such a low price. This model is designed to be extremely easy to use for beginners as well as being easily upgradable to an unresponsive yoyo by swapping in a large SPEC or Center Trac bearing.
The string keeps twisting and you have to straighten it out too often. For the weight of the yoyo the string is also not strong enough. Not as good as yoyo’s I used when I was a child.
I ordered the yoyo, AND an abec5 bearing expecting to have to swap immediately. Not one bit needed (though im not a “professional” – if you can even call it that). This yoyo well surpassed my expectations, durable plastic, comes with a metal 8 ball bearing (no abec rating) but will sleep for a solid minute at the least.
The Reflex is the easiest yo-yo for new players. It returns to the hand without having to tug the string! In the center of the yo-yo is a centrifugal clutch. As the yo-yo loses spin, this clutch engages around the axle and the Reflex automatically snaps back to the hand.
Its take-apart design also makes knot removal a cinch, while it’s lightweight, wide shape makes learning new tricks simpler than ever before! The Original and best selling looping yo-yo of all time! The Imperial is the original, All-American classic.
A timeless favorite, the Imperial has been the yo-yo of choice for many generations of beginning yo-yo players. The Imperial features a narrow string gap, steel axle and durable plastic body in bold colors.
For this reason Amazon. uk cannot guarantee the shipment of a particular color and / or model. By ordering this item you will receive one of the colors / patterns shown in the image, depending on the available stock.
The Butterfly XT is a classic yo-yo design with modern technology. It features a ball-bearing axle offering 10x the spin time of the original Butterfly. It boasts a take-apart design for easy knot removal and starburst response design for snappy returns to the hand.
These features make Butterfly XT perfect for a beginner to intermediate player looking for high performance at a great price!.
For the cost, its worth it. Kids will enjoy it yet Its a spin off of duncan. Its not a Duncan, that I remember. Same form & shape. Not the same weight and quality. That has an affect on its proformance.
When attempting tricks, like ” walk the dog”, it wobbles and layes to its side. When doing ” rock the baby” it lays to its side and begins to spin.
The Duncan Butterfly is one of my favorites: smooth as silk movements, fluid handling, fast return, bright colors and a comfortable “old hand. ” I’ve collected one from nearly every era, along with others in the Duncan line.
Yoyos are a time-honored childhood/youth ritual. For me, they recall a less complicated time and, while still primarily seen as a “male” toy, they also bring back the “wow” factor from my youth, for the analog thrill they provided us.
My entire family loves these! They are great for beginner if you hitch it several times. Or only hitch it once or twice and it will sleep a long time!! They are very durable. My 20 year old had his for over 15 years and it just broke after him allowing his toddler siblings to play ( abuse) it.
They provide hours of entertaining and challenging fun. Join in the game when you demonstrate how to use them – it’s a great bonding experience between you and your child. Pass these plastic yo-yos out as classroom rewards for good grades and behavior or hand them out at sleepover parties and birthday parties for some old-fashioned fun.
This might be controversial because Oriental Trading Company went to the expense of sealing each yoyo, but I do think having someone who knows how to yoyo pre-torque each yoyo will help youngsters or newbies succeed in learning “art of the yoyo”.
These are high enough quality to learn the basics.
These yo-yo’s are great, but you have to tie them one more time to make sure the string stays on. I practiced using them hard, since I will be packing these for 10-14 year olds. One came off the string, but once I tied it another time on another one they worked well.
I liked the bright colors and honestly I could not find any yo-yos in the stores around here. I put a big Easter egg hunt and these will go in the basket for next years hunt.
A yo-yo that always returns to your hand with motion activated glowing LED lights! Featuring a modified Butterfly shape and “auto-return” axle technology with color changing led lights to put an extra edge on all your favorite tricks.
As the yo-yo loses spin, this clutch engages around the axle and it automatically snaps back to your hand. The centrifugal clutch is the science behind the auto-returning feature. A modern version of a toy classic, nostalgic parents can show their kids a trick or two with these! You’ll be ‘walking the dog’ and ‘hopping the fence’ in no time with this super smooth axel!.
Bought this for an 11 year old boy, he was delighted. Funny enough the party bags from his celebration contained yo-yo as well. His own comments were that the Mega Spin it’s a super yo-yo, superior to some other ones.
The Flash Light is an advanced level 2 yo-yo. The auto return system means you will be a yo-yo pro in no time. With blazing LED lights this yo-yo will suit intermediate through to expert abilities. The Flash Light is the optimum weight with a metal axis and durable string.
Yoyos are a great tool for performing tricks, and they can be a lot of fun to use. There are a few things to keep in mind when using a yoyo for tricks, however. First, make sure that the yoyo is properly secured to your finger.
Second, be aware of the direction the yoyo is spinning in, as this can affect the direction of the trick. Finally, practice the tricks you want to perform ahead of time so that you can execute them flawlessly.
With a little bit of practice, you’ll be able to perform all sorts of amazing yoyo tricks!.
