20 Best Z Wave Camera (2022 Updated)

## What’s free and what requires a monthly fee Wyze seems to change their free features often, so this information may soon become outdated, but from what I understand, here is currently what you get free (as of September 2022).

It has a magnetic, extendable base that makes it easy to mount to something like your refrigerator or a metal pole and point it at your target area. The Wyze Cam is powered by a Micro USB cable and a 5V 1A power supply (included).

## Performance The low light performance of the Wyze Cam v3 is very impressive! If there is enough ambient light (like from street lights), it can give you “color night vision”. However, if the area is pitch black (like a basement at night), then you can use the infrared night vision which is in black and white, but extends far enough for a medium to large-sized room.

One of my favorite features of the Wyze Cam is that you can insert a microSD card (not included) and continuously record, kind of like your own closed-circuit security DVR system. Unfortunately, using the app to navigate through the timeline is a little cumbersome and slow and it takes some time to find the spot you’re looking for.

And the one caveat is that if someone steals the camera, they have your microSD card with all the footage as well. The camera also has a small built-in siren that you can sound whenever you see something suspicious going on.

It’s not ear-piercing, but should be enough to let someone nearby know that someone is watching them. ## Longevity I actually had the very first generation of the Wyze Cam and found that it did its job very well and it was cool to watch the company grow, but at the same time, I felt like every few months there was some new kind of “drama” associated with this inexpensive security camera with features being discontinued and urgent firmware updates needing to be installed.

I can’t really be too upset with the company because the hardware is inexpensive and I believe the company generally has good intentions and they, of course, need to sustain their business model. Just be aware that you may need to read some long emails to try and figure out how to keep your camera and its features working and that the cameras may eventually “expire” after a few years and no longer receive security updates.

This is true for any piece of technology that connects to the internet and is not specific to Wyze Cam. ## Summary If you’re looking for an inexpensive way to check-in on your home when you’re away, the Wyze Cam is easy to set up, and they’re cheap enough to buy in multiples.

You may also want to invest in a microSD card for each camera if you would prefer to use local storage and/or don’t want to pay for monthly cloud storage.

Received 3 Wyze V3 cameras in July of 2021 as a gift. No technology you buy is by any means perfect and these are no exception, HOWEVER for the price these are GREAT little cameras and the night vision is very nice.

I have wanted something like these for a long time but all the other companies were too expensive for their equipment and then the monthly fee and that was not possible for me for what I wanted them for.

These suit my purposes just fine of just being able to see who (or what) is around all hours of the day and night. I purchased separately the Wyze 32 gig SD cards and have one installed and set on continuous record on each camera so when the 12 seconds notification is up I can hit the playback button if I want and see what happened before or after and you have the option to record that to your phone if needed to save it for later.

No need to take out the SD card from the camera as when the card is full it just starts over on its own re-writing on the oldest data and that is fine with me. I would recommend getting the SD cards in the V3 cameras and set them to continuous record.

I live where its cold, sometimes below zero, and the snow blows, these cameras are outside and under an open porch roof or overhang so somewhat protected and they worked well through their first winter.

These do not run on a battery, you will need to plug them in somehow, I have ground fault outlets on my open air porches and so far haven’t had a problem. These cameras also have a two way speaker and “siren”, not perfect but do “work” and I have turned the microphone on while watching LIVE and told the raccoons to “scat” when they were on my back patio, cheap entertainment.

LOL. The siren just made the one raccoon more curious, come closer and look up at the camera, maybe it just sounded like a wounded animal to the raccoon. I would like to get a few more of these V3 cameras for the areas I can’t see and to put one to view the bird feeders.

You can also watch what is happening LIVE and that could be fun for the bird feeder. You could also share for example that camera on the bird feeder with your housebound friend or relative that lives elsewhere and the LIVE feature is nice for that.

The easiest they could do that (in my opinion) is with a smart phone and the wyze app, I am not very techy to figure out anything else. Now the downside. Overall easy to set up, but it took me a few times to get it done.

At this time I would not rely on these for a business security cameras or high crime areas where you depend highly on these cameras for security. They are great little cameras with a good picture for the price, but if you need to zoom in to try and read a license plate, or see a face more clearly that is not within just a few feet of the camera to help in a criminal case, you will be disappointed.

I will also add I have nothing to compare these with other brands, but this is my observation with these. I have been “fumbling” around with different settings in each camera, which is done through the Wyze app.

Trying different angles of the cameras to try and find what works best for each one. The “detection zone” to monitor movement is not perfect when you set areas in each camera to “not to detect” motion in an area is not very good and headlights and their reflections will set off a “motion” for your camera to record even if you think you have that headlight area blocked out, headlights reflect a lot and probably will just have to live with it.

So if you live in a high traffic area, or a corner lot with lots of turning cars and headlights, good luck and realize that is probably how it is going to be. They also will detect motion when tree branches, or shadows of the branches move, or the snow when it comes down or blows will set it off too, lightening storm or whatever moves or changes in lighting will set it off to record.

The people detection is a hit or miss in my experience and you get people detection with what they call Cam Plus Lite and you currently can get that for free or pay whatever price you want. You will need the Cam Plus Lite to see your 12 second videos, otherwise you won’t get video in your notifications and with Lite there is what they call a “5 minute cooldown”, it won’t record any motion on that camera for another 5 minutes, (unless you have installed an SD card and have that set to continuous record).

You can upgrade to Cam Plus for Wyze’s set price and that comes with a few more perks and does not have the “5 minute cooldown” like the Lite version, but that is not something I need at this time. In my notifications it sometimes will say that a person is a “motion” and not a “person”, or one of the neighborhood feral cats sometimes is detected as a “person” and not a “motion”.

This to me is more of a “fun little toy” and not something I have to rely on for protecting say a business from any crime going on and have to rely on for a criminal case. But if I do have any criminal or other issues at my home, hopefully I will have something good enough to help with an investigation.

Also you pretty much have to “play around” with the different settings to see what they do, no real “instructions” on how to use those settings or “tips” on what each one is or suggestions on how to set them that I found.

Can probably find things online if you look. So many people complain on a currently $30 camera with basically no monthly fee unless you choose to pay some in “Lite”. They are not perfect, no piece of technology is, they all can have issues, but for the price I feel it is a decent value, well made and I just try to ignore some things as the camera does serve my purposes as mentioned above.

Been using for over a month now. Very, VERY happy with these! My family uses them to keep an eye on an elderly parent who is recovering from a brain bleed (that I luckily caught quickly before any brain damage occurred), still living independently, and is at increased risk of complications if he hits his head on anything while recovering.

We cannot move in with him and he cannot move in with any of us, so this has been the perfect step for us to take until he is recovered and/or until he needs to be moved to an assisted living facility.

I set up four cameras do we can see him everywhere except in the actual bathrooms; we can see him enter and exit the bathrooms and I live 4 minutes away so if he were to be in the bathroom for an excessively long time (or if we would hear anything that sounds like a crash/fall), I’d be on my way over instantly and could also call 911 on my way if I felt it was needed.

When he had the brain bleed he was TERRIBLY confused and did not think to call anyone for help, nor do I think he would have been able to use the phone…he could barely get out sporadic full sentences at some points (it was very hit or miss) and was aware of some sort of “problem” but definitely couldn’t identify that he was having a medical emergency.

These cameras have brought us tremendous peace of mind, the images are of very good quality when viewing from my smartphone, and I LOVE that I am able to speak through them if he doesn’t answer his phone.

I do wish there was some sort of button he could press to send me a notification that he’d like to talk to one of us, but that’s a whole different service and if he can’t remember how to dial a phone he wouldn’t remember to push the button so we’d have a newly worrisome issue to deal with anyway.

We mostly just use these to check in on him and make sure he hasn’t fallen, but also like knowing that (with the memory cards installed) we would be able to look back on old videos to check for any falls or head bumps (on a door frame or wall, for instance) if he would suddenly show any sign of another brain bleed or any other mental deficit.

(When the doctor asks, “Has he fallen lately or hit his head?”, without these cameras we would have to reply, “I don’t know”, unless he showed physical signs of a bump to his head. That’s not helpful.

These could literally be a lifesaver! (Or a quality of life saver. ) I’d also recommend for keeping an eye on sneaky kids (thinking of putting on in our pantry lol) and diabetic patients who are at higher-than-usual risk of diabetic comas, fall risks, or any other medical, mental health, or behavioral issues.

When he went out of town, we also left them on just in case someone would’ve broken into his house. On occasion, I do get some briefly pixelated images, but I’m thrilled with the setting options and greatly appreciate that they continue recording as soon as they detect motion.

They detect and begin recording very quickly too, which I have found impressive. The annual cost for four cameras at this quality and with these options is very reasonable as well. They’ve also had many updates which I’m happy to see because it shows the company is keeping up with these cameras.

We have a Ring Indoor Cam in one of our rooms (Where one of our cats stays when we aren’t home) so we can monitor our pets while we are at work. We use a few cameras , different brands, and the Ring is exceptional.

We have 2 way speech on it, so we can talk to and be spoken to back, it has an alarm option and the ability to record footage. Mine needs a subscription though to save footage (which is a monthly fee), which is the only downside as our others save the footage on Memory cards by looping.

The footage of these Ring cameras are clear and great, and has the ability to change into night vision too which is great. You can be alerted when there is motion, and the camera size is quite small and minimalistic and doesn’t take up much room or look like an eyesore.

If you are happy about paying a monthly subscription then this is great, although you can still run it without one (access via their app on your phone) but you can just view, not save footage. A great quality camera with high resolution and clear footage- The ability to activate the alarm is great if you ever need to as well.

Ring cameras are great cameras and the Ring Indoor 1080P is no exception. I used it in a Nursing Home that allows caretakers to place cameras in their loved ones rooms. Not only did it provide peace of mind for my loved one but for me.

Also a plus is that I could speak to her anytime I wanted and to staff if they had questions or if I had concerns. I love that everything is stored in the cloud for a small monthly fee. Having live real time video and motion detection is the main reason for me purchasing this particular camera.

Picture and sound quality during a call is much better than most all the camera I could have purchased. I brought my loved one home and now I can use it in her room. Also have Ring doorbell and an additional indoor to monitor things around the house when we’re away.

I purchased this in-door security camera to protect my privacy of my bedroom as I live in shared accommodation and wanted to make sure nobody was sneaking around in my bedroom. The camera works great and the motion detection and video quality is incredible for the price.

However the sound quality is inherently and noticeably worse; the microphone on the camera itself is pretty God awful unless it is placed in the same room as the broadband box, and the same goes for the talk-back feature; the speaker on the microphone emits barely any viable sound.

One thing I did not realise was when signing up with Ring, the video and motion capture storage is actually not included with the camera, and it costs £2 per month as a somewhat hidden subscription fee.

All in all i’m not entirely disappointed with the camera because of the price tag – but it could definitely be better.

I actually went out of my way to get this first gen camera even though the second gen had just came out. Reason: first gen works with the Nest app (and Google Home) whereas the second gen only works through Google Home.

If you like the Nest video layout better or you want to view video on a web browser you need the first gen camera. Also with the nest app you have increased sharing options. With google home your sharing options are limited.

Currently you can not share select items like a single camera under a ‘home’ in google home – instead everything in the home will be shared with full read write delete access. If you want to share a single camera for instance you will need to create a separate ‘home’.

So in some ways, yes the 1st gen one is better. However, I’m sure this will be EOL soon.

I have 3 other Google Nest products. The set-up for all of them was simple. The Nest cam…different story. When I scanned the QR code the app took me right back to the home page. Live chat with Google was disappointing.

I tried the QR on 3 different devices, so the devices weren’t the issue. In fact I had set-up a Nest Hub minutes earlier. The cam was the problem. Tried the different route using the “key. ” Still nothing.

Quickly drove to Best Buy and got my money back. (While chatting with Google rep, was left hanging several times for minutes. Arabella was juggling several customers obviously-normal procedure, I know.

But she was forgetting things we had already discussed. ).

Arguably best cam system. I previously used Canary, and the app, including the devices themselves we so buggy. Sometimes you would get an extreme amount of alerts and then sometimes you would get none at all.

With nest cameras you get alerts depending on what enters or exits the cameras view and it doesn’t force your phone to make a ringing sound. Several reviews point out the nest aware subscription as a point off of the whole product, but I paid for a product and had a subscription that was subpar.

Quality: the cameras are decent weight, leading to a fair structure and sturdiness. The camera quality is excellent. You have clarity to actually see what is going on and very little pixelation. Price: The price is really the kicker for some people, but you’re either paying for quality or nothing.

Peace of mind is worth the cost. Overall I am very pleased with the product and the programming works as intended. 👍.

What’s good loveones right out the box I was impressed with that quality, the multifunctional platform options on the wyze app. 🏆Then suddenly the cam pan Device went into some sort of 📵❌📴🤔🚽I have. No explanation I paid good money for and have no issues.

I perchased a few months back at the local home Depot fresh out the box it was Gucci 💯. So I Went right into to the available tutorials and didn’t find any remedies. Nor any sufficient explanation. But my guess is that an (Electrical Surge) of some sort fried it internally from an outage ***”circuit breaker and faulty wiring**” I sure hope wyze provides some sortof warranty.

I was in the market looking for a camera for my house for while I was away i live in a apartment so its good to know I can check in and make sure my pets are okay and nothing has happened like a fire or something.

I recehad a matience tech come to fix my a/c cause it wasn’t working and man when I tell you this camera out performed itself money well spent! It has motion tagging and tracking on it so any movement from pet or person it tracks the whole time it was following him left and right up and down it did everything it could to keep the best angle of everything that was happening.

Really love this camera. I payed $20 for the year for the plus membership its not needed but it’s nice to have but they have an option for like $2 a month for it too I believe. I also opted for a SD card thay was $5 to record for a couple days incase I have to go back on video.

I highly recommend this camera I didnt want to write a review on it this early but its been 2 or 3 months since I had it and haven’t had any issues with it so far. Easy to set up basically plug in and it takes care of itself.

Only con I have is video quality its amazing from the standard but if you try to fully zoom in it tends to blur but thats ti be expected long as you dont need to zoom to the max then everything else is crystal clear.

Overall the product design is nice and the image quality is acceptable, however the associated app results in this camera being basically unusable except for certain cases. Specifically there is a problem with defining areas within the cameras view to trigger motion alerts.

Only the center of the cameras view could be used to define motion alerts. We purchased the camera to cover a driveway leading up to our garage and a walkway leading to the front door. Both areas of interest were well within the cameras view, but not directly centered.

Thus the camera wouldn’t pick up movement on either the driveway or the path. We contacted Ring support and were first given a nonsensical answer saying that if we just provided more power to the unit then it would work.

The camera is supposed to be battery powered and wirelessly connected to our wifi network so needing to run a power cable to the camera defeated the purpose. We contacted Ring a second time and finally learn that they were aware of the issue but currently did not have plans to fix the software issue.

We returned the Ring camera and bought a Blink camera system and had NONE of the problems we had with Ring. So if your area of interest is in the center of the camera’s view this product will likely work fine for you.

However, if you too have a little bit of an odd angled space you are trying to view this will not work well.

This Ring Stick up Indoor/Outdoor WireFree 1080p Security Camera has a great wide angel view of my front yard. I had it mounted above my garage. The color by day and infrared by night are excellent. There is a two way audio that can be used to communicate with person during a live event.

The app was easy to install and there are motion detection settings for range of motion. The battery life is good. Still 25% after 3 months of usage. Life of battery charge depends on level of activity, which is very active in my front yard.

It’s necessary to purchase the subscription for creating and keeping your video library if recordings. The camera is basically useless without the subscription. One con to the camera is that the recordings have a lag time that misses the recording of an event at the very beginning.

It can sometimes lag from 5 to 10 seconds, This could be caused because of the Wi-Fi location being too far away. All in all we are satisfied with the camera.

I honestly hate these things. They were PERFECT for about 2 weeks…. now they are nothing but an annoyance that had costed more money than expected and generally overall poor security because of the lack of video quality.

For the first week they had great sensing, video quality, battery life, etc- literally no issues. Out of no where the camera batteries started going from 100% to 10% in less than 4 hours, they miss so many events on the most sensitive setting and didn’t sense a single thing in front of the camera on the lesser settings (me standing in front if them waving my arms), CONSTANT connectivity issues.

LITERALLY CONSTANT. And now any motion freezes the video and misses 3/4 of what happened. HUGELY disappointed in these if you couldn’t tell. I would love to say it was a faulty one but it’s all 3 I purchased.

Bought the spare batteries, bought the wifi extender, bought the solar panel- alleviated 0 of the problems.

Flood light coverage – Covers a wide angle and lights up our entire back yard which is a medium size back yard by California standards. Brightness – Very bright but can also be changed in settings which I havent done yet but like the option.

It scares the cats and possom away and we can see the entire backyard with minimal dark spots. Maneuverability – We wanted to light up the back yard from intruders but didnt want to blind the neighbors when a stray cat walks by.

The flexibility of the lights allows us to accomplish that. Sensor sensitivity – There are options to use the camera or onboard sensor to trigger the light. This is something we are still playing with but all the options are nice.

We currently set it up to trigger when camera detects movement in certain zones and it is doing the job well. The camera is excellent and having the extra port to connect our other camera gave us all we wanted.

For starters the v3 camera is good, the lights are bright, and the pir sensor works great. Thats about it. The extra usb port on the back for an additional v3 cam is faulty; ive tried 2 different v3 cams and 4 different micro usb cables including the WYZE supplied ones and for some reason they ALWAYS go offline with code 90.

But if i connect the camera to the extension ive been using it works like a charm. Also the camera mounting is flimsy as hell. One little tug or some wind and the camera moves. I’ve tightened the screw mount tight but it still moves/rotates.

Which brings me to my final complaint, this is not worth $100. I have another floodlight i bought off amazon for $30 which feels way more premium than this. Given that this comes with a v3 camera id wait until these are on sale for $60-$70.

Will definitely be returning for full refund asap.

When it works, it’s great! App seems to be a little buggy, several times, there were no recordings for sound or movement, missed package deliveries. It comes and goes. Hoping you add a neighborhood group feature to share lost pets, crimes, fires, etc.

Camera is pretty good and very bright lights! Super easy to install and connect to app. Not happy about being double charged for a license/plan from Google, on top of the purchase from Wyze. Why am I being charged double?? We also were sent, and charged, for earbuds somehow when we ordered our first license.

Getting information online to correct these wasn’t very helpful, nor the gentleman in customer service when I did find a number to get through. I purchased 2 of these because of the great reviews I have personally gotten about this brand of cameras.

Hoping someone actually reads this and corrects these issues, sounds like fraud.

I received the Blink Indoor 2-Camera System to use in my house. We have been needing something like this for a long time so I was very excited to try it out. The little box comes with everything you need to get setup right away; the two mini cameras, Blink Sync Module 2, hardware for mounting and 4 AA Lithium batteries (for the cameras).

The setup was very easy and straightforward. There is a little manual included and once you download the Blink Home Monitor app everything is laid out step-by-step. You first want to plug in the module which is powered by a micro USB plug.

There is also another USB on the device for extra storage. Once you plug it in, you pair it onto your app (home network) than you add your cameras which are powered by two AA batteries (included). The app is very easy to use; you can control the cameras, take pictures, view live and arm or disarm which make the cameras go on once motion is detected.

If it detects motion, the camera will take a short video at what it views (which included infrared night vision), it than alerts your phone and those videos are saved within the app. You can decide to save the images for a certain amount of time or delete them right away.

There is a bunch of customizations within the app that include customizable motion alerts, targeting certain zones to detect motion, camera sensitivity, clip lengths, IR Intensity etc. You can even see, hear and speak to people or your pets with the live view in real time.

I have yet to try my cameras with Alexa but you are able to monitor your home with Alexa-enabled devices. Overall, I think this is an excellent camera system. It’s very easy to install, use and the video quality is great during the day and with the infrared night vision.

I like having the option to access the images from the app or expand the storage from the module. The Lithium batteries included should run these cameras for up to two years! I would definitely recommend this system to anyone looking to get indoor security cameras.

I was pleasantly surprised how well the Blink indoor cameras worked! It was also very easy to install and set up after downloading the Blink app. The package comes with two cameras, sync module 2, and hardware to mount if you want to attach it to a wall or ceiling.

There are so many nice features that come in these small cameras. The main one that attracted me is that it is wireless. I didn’t have to make sure I had enough wire that needed to be run to the base.

These cameras need two AA lithium batteries that will keep it powered for TWO years! That’s insane! Although it does say that the longer you set the video clips, the shorter the life span. But, for me, I don’t mind running short clips and if need be, I’ll just buy more batteries.

It has infrared night vision so it can record video at night. The one tiny drawback for me was that when the night vision is enabled, it makes clicking noises as the infrared vision adjusts as the motion is detected, but I can live with that.

You can also use this to record a live feed of the area you are monitoring. There is a two-way audio component that allows you to speak to whomever is in the room and they can talk back to you. If you want, you can even talk to your pets while you’re away.

You can set the video duration from 5 seconds to 60 seconds. You can set a privacy zone so as not to record everything. Another nice add-on is that there is a temperature monitor with the camera that you can view via the app.

This is nice in case you’re away and your heat source has stopped. You can see this, and act on it so that your pipes don’t burst! Another great thing about this system is that you can monitor this from wherever you are since all the videos and settings are contained via the app.

You can be hundreds of miles away and see what is happening in your home and change any of the settings or even arm/disarm the system. What a convenience! For the price, this security camera system packs a big wallop!!! Highly recommended!.

My wife and I have been looking for a set of cameras we could put in our playroom and son’s room to use as a baby monitor. These so far have seem to fit the bill. They give you a wired option or they also can take two double A batteries.

Setup was fairly simple: I had to download an app to my iPhone and pair the two cameras to it using the QR reader in the app. Overall, it took about five minutes to mount both my cameras and pair them as well as the sync module.

When opening the app to view live feed from the cameras, it takes a few seconds for it to load. Not too shabby! One of the only downfalls I have found so far is the video quality isn’t as on par with other cameras I have used in the past.

The app also gives you the options to take screenshots of the live view and store them in a “cloud” for future viewings. If you are looking for an affordable wireless camera option, the blink cameras are definitely something to look into.

For what I wanted it for as a remote camera with power but no internet it was extremely difficult to set up. I had to set it up via a router then converted over to a hot spot, it cannot be set up wirelesssly per the hot spot you want it to run off of.

plus I had to format a SD card and that was not easy to do either. Once I got it set up how I wanted it I think its going to work for my purpose. The directions they send with the camera are not very good nor are the on line directions for how I wanted to use it.

I do think the quality of the camera is very good and the video is very good, as is the price point. It does not appear to to pick up objects that are traveling a high rate of speed like over 5 mph. I think this is the only camera on the market that can be used the way I am using it, at a entry gate.

There is no internet, I do have power, saves video to an SD card and I can down load the videos off the SD card on my cell phone if the phone has terthering capabilities. Once its set up via a router, then the phone, the hotspot on the phone communicates with the camera and you can look at the SD card or live video to adjust if you are within 10 feet or so of the camera.

I wish it would tilt forward too! Great features for the price. It came with a 5 day free cloud trial and thereafter compatible with an SD card. It took forever to hook up after the trial expired. The image quality is great during the day.

I initially liked I can set motion detection in certain areas although I find it still films any movement regardless of where the motion detection takes place because of this i had to turn off the notifications which were incessant.

Ability to schedule notifications at specific times is a nice feature. Serious lag time intermittently but i have fiber optic high speed internet so i dont know what the deal with that is and load time takes a solid 40 or so seconds with each segment being viewed, it was better on the cloud for whatever reason.

vision is good for indoor use but i use the camera pointed outside and when i keep night light on, the glare against the window causes a reflection where you can only see the camera but during the day there is good capture within 20 feet.

If its a car it still films it going by over 50 feet away. Nice wide angle. My neighbor steals my tomatoes, my peppers and puts her trash in my bin so I really wanted to catch her in the act and this device is perfect i caught her once so far throwing a broom in our garden as an excuse to come in the yard and then snatched a head of lettuce but this camera caught her antics! Yay! Will probably upgrade but testing if my suspicions were accurate with this inexpensive cam was a rewarding experience for me.

I now have 4 EZVIZ cameras, 1 outdoor (C3N model) and 3 indoor (C1C models). All of them were an absolute breeze to set up. Although I am not a security expert, I am satisfied with the configuration options available to limit the hacking of the cameras.

I took the time to go through all the options and selected good passwords for all the features. The image quality is very good and the system response is quick. I signed up for cloud storage on a monthly basis and everything is working fine.

The monthly fee is a bit pricey to my taste, but not prohibitive. An additional great aspect of EZVIZ is their customer support. When I reset my WiFi, I had to reconfigure one of the cameras and had lost my user manual.

When I phoned in for support they answered quickly and helped be through all the steps to get it configured again. I very much recommend these cameras.

The best thing about this camera at first was the price! But then I plugged it in and was amazed at what it did, especially for an inexpensive security camera! And, you can talk through your phone or iPad into the camera.

Great clarity. And you can even set it to beep when something comes within range of the camera to warn you. Great range as well. I liked it so much I bought a second one! Thanks again!.

Set up was fairly easy it had trouble recognizing the barcode but other than that I just wish the cord was longer the cord is too short I wish it had sound it does not have sound picture quality is awesome no issue with that though sometimes if an animal walks in front of it it’s supposed to give you a notification of an animal it will tell you it’s a car so it doesn’t always give you the correct identification.

people that picks up, fine cars that picks up fine animals it tells you it’s a car. in all no matter major issues. It says it’s supposed to go with Google home mini but when I clicked to view it won’t let you view says it cannot be viewed.

So I unpaired it with my Google home mini. Another thing I noticed you couldn’t pick what items that it will pick up like animals people cars and other motions it will sometimes change that and it will pick all motions even though I don’t want all motions I have a flag and so every time the flag moves I get a a notification so I have to go back in there and check off all motions but it keeps referring back to that that can be annoying for other than that not too bad if you don’t have a lot of money to spend these work well it works off your Wi-Fi but you have to plug it in but like I said it does need to have a bit of a longer cord it’s too short I have to buy two extension cords.

Bought this based on price and reviews. Didn’t realize till now that a majority of the reviews are from people who got a free camera to review. It set up easy for me. It has a decent picture quality but the night vision is not good.

Problem I have with camera is that it is not a security camera, good for monitoring something maybe but not if you want alerts and need a flawless playback. Heres the deal, it will only push an alert every 20 minutes if it picks up motion of 10 seconds.

Ten seconds is a long time. If you have this covering an entrance way or stairs forget it, unless someone dances in front of camera you will never know unless you review the footage. And thats a huge problem too, it only records 1 fps if it does not alert to 10 seconds of motion.

That is useless. You might get a glimpse of whatever you want to check out. Heres an example, I had someone drive a pickup truck right through my cameras view, park, get out and walk to back of house.

I was never sent an alert because it took less then 10 seconds to do that. Now when I reviewed, I saw this but could not get a good playback because it only recorded 1 fps. I could not even get a good clip of that time frame because it was only 1 fps and was like a slow motion view, one second I see a truck drive up, then it skips to a truck parked with open door, then a man walking, then nothing till I see truck moving again, and ten minutes had elapsed on timestamp.

In the 10 or so minutes they were on the property I never received an alert and was unable to get good usable footage of them because of the 1 fps. Now if it alerts to motion it will record at 25 fps but thats only if it alerts.

I have a second one set up in a stairway and it never alerts to anyone walking up or down which is the entrance to the house because it does not take 10 seconds to walk up the stairs. So someone could walk up to the door, do whatever, and I would not know if I did not review the tape.

Who wants to review every day? And what use would it be, it does not record realtime motion unless it notices 10 seconds of motion. I can not recommend these if you want them to protect your property and have a recording that can be useful.

If they changed the alert times etc and record playback then this would be an awesome deal, not only would I recommend but I would buy more. Till then you get less then you pay for because it will not work in most real life situations and you will be disappointed.

I really like this set of cameras. To get all features I pay 20 month for 4 cameras, it gives you intelligent alerts, 7 days of cloud recordings, flashback, video clips and is bank level security. I just have 1 problem and is the reason why I gave it 4 stars, one of my cameras stops recording about 3-4 tines a day and I constantly have to unplug and plug back in.

It’s driving me crazy but, is only 1 camera that’s doing it. Night vision is great, I highly recommend this cameras. You can take pictures or record while live, you can also download videos,pictures or saved them on camera gallery.

The settings and app are very simple but, not bad.

The alerts are delayed, it takes a couple of minutes after something comes into view before it alerts me, and sometimes I don’t get an alert at all. I have gotten several alerts and can’t see anything that would have set it off.

As far as the app, it needs more settings to where you can set the sensitivity so snow flakes and rain drops don’t set them off. I do love the live view. I’m still not sure how far away they will alert in the day time.

These are real nice cameras. I was impressed with body, it is all metal, no plastic. Crisp and clear picture during the day and night. Color picture during daytime and black and white during the night.

These are wireless via your wifi and need an electrical outlet to plug in power adapter. Easy to install with the Zmodo app. Plug it in and add it using the app. Follow the prompts to connect to your secure wifi.

Multiple settings in the app to set schedules to send notifications and share with others. I would recommend this product.

I purchased this product after evaluating multiple similar items. When i received this item, it was absolutely easy to install and connect to my network. the item is small, and hides well. the clarity is perfect and now, my wife and i have also purchased the door chime from Zmodo.

this company is fantastic. even when i had an issue with one camera, i called tech support and they helped me out through some trouble shooting. i had to replace one camera and it was seamless with them.

within 7 days i had a replacement. Thank you Zmodo.

I’ve been using zmodo cameras for many years now. I love these cameras. If you have one go out try another power cord before tossing the camera. Sometimes it’s the cord not the cameras. I called zmodo to purchase new cords, problem solved.

They’re fairly easy to set up. I do admit that sometimes they can be a booger to get set up. When all else fails call them. They can help you link a camera with a few easy steps. I reccomend keeping some extra power cords on hand.

Contrary to some of the other posts, you do not need a subscription. It will always send you notifications when there is movement and you can add an NVR if you want to record without a subscription. Zmodo has excellent quality and a great picture.

If you want a system that works on a local network when your internet is down then this isnt the right kind of system. Instead of leaving a bad review they should have simply read the information before purchasing.

Yes internet is required but it is a simple set up that I completed for all 5 of the cameras I have purchased over the last year with a note 8 and note 9 phone. My 66 year old dad set his up by himself with a s9+.

I just hate when an excellent product gets a bad review because someone was too lazy to read before they bought it and “wanted an apple but bought an orange” and got mad about it. Great product. Highly recommend!.

These cameras constantly drop off the internet connection. Then you have to redo the setup process. About 2 months of having the cameras they all dropped off the internet and only one was able to be reconnected.

Until about a week ago the last one fell off the internet and now can not reconnect. Customer Service is worthless. They just send you links to check internet speed. Absolutely no help. Don’t buy a warranty on them because they won’t replace the camera or refund anything back to you.

Picture is good, black and white with invisible ir light, it can be set to turn on visible lights for color when motion is detected, or full time visible light if you want. Users should be aware that the camera is made to work with a paid cloud subscription, which works well but will run up costs, as well as create some heavy internet traffic.

It’s possible to setup your own recording but you need additional software and it’s difficult to find the correct internal ip to stream.

Easy to set up, ant changes such as : name, router, and other settings are very easy, very good picture quality. The app and the computer program both work very well.

I recommend this camera to anyone who is looking for a simple indoor camera that brings function, control and affordability without the hassle of installation (BB didn’t ship my first order. so I had to wait longer to receive it, just saying).

Not only is Ring a trusted brand, but the audio, streaming and video recordings are good quality for the price. I also believe you get a 30 day trial for movement recordings to store on the cloud for a while etc, but it will still allow you to stream without it.

I’m going with the small monthly subscription to upload on the cloud for playback reasons. I live in an apartment and maintenance tend to come in without prior notice while I’m out. This camera gives some peace of mind knowing what’s going on while I’m out.

The actual camera and software is easy to setup. The software gives more control than a lot of other cameras on this budget level. I appreciate being able to control motion sensitivity and decide what area in the room’s purview I don’t want the motion detector to pickup.

My living room curtains are always moving and my previous budget camera would send annoying motion alerts despite being on the less sensitive detection. With the software/phone app, I am super pleased to “disarm” the camera lens when I’m home without plugging it out for privacy (it doesn’t have a physical privacy slider to block the lens, so due to a little paranoia, I once still covered it with a ventilated styrofoam cup for good measure — I know).

Also, since I had to unplug my previous camera just for privacy, couple times in the mornings I forgot to plug it back in. This would cause frustration while at work. Now, I can keep this camera plugged in all the time.

If I leave and forget the “disarm” on, I can simply remove it remotely with the app and start viewing/recording. I plan to get another one!.

Ring Camera – I purchased this particular Ring camera because I needed something that was unnoticeable in a tinted front room window. So the color and size were perfect. I ended up buying a little metal mountable shelf (4×4) that sticks to the inside of the window and it does the trick.

I have one of the best internet packages you can get from Cox, and the only thing that connected (when I am home, its my cellphone and TV, not a gamer or have anything that takes up a lot of the connection) to it during the day (a good solid 12 hrs), are the 4 ring cameras I have around the house.

And although picture quality is good. I get a lot of missed seconds/minutes. Example; I had a package delivered to the front door (with a ring in the window), and when you go back through the video. you see no package, and then it skips ahead a good couple of minutes and then you see a package.

but no person coming or going. And dang does it pixelate quite a bit. This happens a lot. So I wouldn’t say I would recommend, but for the price, size and ease of setup. they do a decent job.

Bought 3 of them to use in different rooms to keep an eye on the dogs when we are not home. I already have a Ring subscription so they were pretty easy to add. Only minor complaint is that it seems one of them has a lower threshold before it goes into night vision mode (enables when it is still fairly bright).

Makes the picture not so good even with color NV enabled. I could probably return/exchange but not worth the trouble. 4 stars is for the overall Ring app experience. The ability to filter events is limited in both the browser and app.

The browser view which I have to use on my computer since there is no Windows app has limited options to change settings. Also would like to be able to turn off all of the indicator lights on the cameras but there is no option to do that.

Since it is a “security camera” having the option to make it stealthy you would think would be included.

Let me start out by saying this review is for the Wyze OUTDOOR cam, not the indoor one. Last year an older man showed up to my house in a white windowless van, parked it in my private driveway came to my front door was peeking through my windows.

This prompted me to immediately look into some sort of outdoor security cameras, and I came across Wyze on amazon. They were the cheapest ones I had found, that had great reviews so I went for it. They work great, the image/video quality is great, and you can watch a live view from your phone (anywhere) and you can get notifications straight to your phone.

The only complaint I really have is that I have noticed they don’t always record motion, but I solved that issue by aiming two cameras toward the same direction. Just know if you put these cameras in a high traffic area, you will get endless notifications that will probably annoy you will drain the battery faster.

(You charge by USB) but if you are looking for a cheap camera to watch over the outside of your home, these aren’t terrible at all. Super affordable, no wires great quality picture/video. They just have to be in wifi range, though they do have a corded option.

Inexpensive pet cam or home security cam with high quality video (in my opinion). I bought this originally to monitor my kittens when my fiance and I were both working. It is perfect for just that; it has 2 way communication, high quality video quality, app is easy to use and allows for video playback.

Installation is easy, and comes with a command strip magnet (magnetic base attached) and can be attached to metal, such as a pet cage. The camera either sits flat on the base, or can be lifted slightly and rotated for a perfect angle.

The only thing this model does not do is physically rotate. It makes up for that with a wide range lens. Absolutely recommend!.

These are great cameras at a reasonable price. We bought two cameras. They are great indoors. They are not wireless. You do have to plug them in to a wall outlet to work. Great picture resolution. The night vision works well unless you are trying to point it through a window to the outside then it does not work well but the fact that theyre are not made for videoing through a window at is not their fault.

The only problem I could say we have is that with having two cameras for some reason it only wants to detect motion from one camera at a time. However our tech savvy 21 year old son says we dont have them set up correctly and that they will both detect motion.

They really do have a very clear picture and they are small enough to easily be hidden if you want them to be. They do have a microphone. So I can be upstairs and open up the app on my phone to watch whats going on downstairs and talk to our sons through my phone which puts it through the speaker on the camera.

So I can tell them to let the dog out or lock the doors up if theyre coming in late, from the comfort of my bed at Midnight. They can also respond back to you if you tap the microphone button again. UPDATE: Our son got both cameras to detect motion so it was user error, not the cameras.

They really are great cameras. Were going to buy two outdoor ones after using these two indoor ones.

So far the camera survived the cold winter in Northeast Ohio. Infrared LED in the night offers good enough pictures of monitored area. Daytime images are good. I would like to mentions some problems that I have and hope the makers will take the suggestions to make it better.

1. The antenna location in the back of the camera make the camera hard to aim in some angles. 2. The power cord connection should be switched which make the camera end be male end, so it will be smaller, since most installation will need to drill a hole on the wall.

I have to drill a 1/2 inch hole. 3. The App in iPad will show the earliest events in the past 24 hours first, which most people will like to see what is the newest event first. 4. The brand name Cobra is too visible, which will give it away what kind of monitor system is to the bad guy, and provide them the information of how to defeat the system.

So I blacked it out with permanent marker.

I have several locations without Internet or telephone service. As a landlord I know just having a camera set up can deter no good people. So at my locations I have set these up. First I am hoping the cameras will deter most bad people.

Secondly if you’re not trying to cover a large area the picture quality is good so I’m hoping to be able to recognize or get a good description of anyone that causes trouble. These systems also have the over write ability.

So that ass the storage gets full it starts recording over the oldest stuff. I can’t see how long it takes but it seems to be about a month before it starts recording over the old stuff. So there is enough time to know if there’s a problem and look at the old recordings.

I added this camera to my existing 4 channel Cobra system that came with 2 cameras, after trying out the system for several months. The 3rd camera was so quick and easy to setup, that I plan to purchase a 4th camera to complete the system.

The camera is mounted under the eve of my roof, with power to an outlet in my attic using an extension cord. The IR night vision works better than the night vision on other brands of cameras I own. I have no trouble viewing all three cameras on my iPhone away from home, in addition to viewing on the Cobra receiver display (which is plugged into the same battery backup as my computer).

I also found a way to view the Cobra cameras on a PC using the BlueStacks free program which duplicates the MyCam View App on my iPhone. The Notifications on my phone are usually within a few seconds.

The microphone works great. I hear birds chirping when I turn it on. My biggest complaint so far is camera orientation. It is difficult to position it in some directions due to the WIFI antenna location on the camera.

I found a mag mount antenna with 6 FT cable on Amazon that eliminates that problem. I wish the cameras also came in white to match the white trim on my house. I haven’t had any problems with any of my Cobra cameras.

Overall I think its a good buy.
