20 Best Zink Goose Call (2022 Updated)

This call has been on my lanyard for about 3 years now, and still works just as good as when I bought it. It’s my favorite goose call and I have tried a few different ones. It’s pretty good at hitting all the notes I throw at it, from high to low, but since it is so easy to blow, sometimes it is hard to break over and go deeper if you’re going from high pitched to low pitched.

This only happens after I use a harder to blow call, as I’m putting too much air into this one. It is a high pitched call as well, but it works from early season to late season all the same. It also will stick/freeze in freezing temperatures, but it will fix itself after warming it up in a few seconds.

Overall it is a very well built, good sounding call that I have put through all conditions and abuse and still works.

Ive always used cheaper calls with the thought that it’s not the call it’s the caller that makes the difference. Boy my old school thoughts went out the door the minute I tried this call. Even for a beginner this call is almost foolproof.

The sound and ease of use blew (lol) me away. Cheap calls. I’ve always found myself blowing my lungs out and never achieving the satisfaction of a good sound. This call let’s you blow easy and work the birds.

Would highly recommend for any new hunter because of the ease of which this call works. Not to forget about how affordable it is.

I am a two time Pa. State Goose Calling Champion which I won in the late 80’s with a call that I built. However, with the advent of the short reed calls and I have tried and used them all, the Zink Power Clucker PC-1 for the money is one of the easiest blowing and natural sounding goose call on the market.

With just some minor tuning you can vertually do everything and more than a goose can do. Great product especailly at the price.

I got this call because of the good reviews. I couldn’t make good sounds with it and I now see that on my last hunt the guts fell out. I understand Zink won’t ship to canada so I have an expensive acrylic tube.

Looking into different brands. This is my 3rd zink goose call and I haven’t been happy. If Zink cares to read this I’d love to chat.

All of Fred’s calls are spot on. NBG is my first single reed call I’ve ever used, I always used a double reed in the 40 years of Waterfowl gunning. I love it, no sticking, no freeze up on bitter days.

A must have in your arnsenal.

I received this as my fiances birthday present. His birthday was yesterday and when he opened the box the ZINK metal symbol on the case fell off and the case itself looked like someone had attempted to re-glue it back on.

wasnt happy about that but it was the call he really wanted so he goes to open the case and guess what!? There’s also not a call in the case! i cant find a number to call or anything. The reeds are in the case, the CD is in there as well as the holding bag for it but NO call.

You can imagine how disappointing his birthday was.

I have been hunting geese since I was 10, and this was my first call. I still have it and still use it, mostly for midrange calling. Pros: Extremely easy to use/blow/cluck, can produce very fast clucks.

Cons: intermediate volume (poor range), very little low-end rasp, often requires tuning. This call because of its simple design is very simple to use, but requires plenty of tuning, practice, and a slight modification to the soundboard to produce sharp low-end rasp.

I recommend it for those just learning to call, it is great fun, and might earn a place on your lanyard.

Bouhht this call last season used it frequently. Needs a new reed or something. It breaks over and holds a weird note that sounds like a kazoo not a goose call. Wouldnt recommend. Picked it up to practice same thing.

I bought this a month ago based on the reviews and price point. This is my first goose call and I have used it many times this fall with great success. The geese come right in. Excellent call for the beginner and you can’t beat the price.

After owning a few other Zink calls, I decided to try their single reed. The call is responsive, easy to work and sounds good! The case and extra reed it comes with are great to have, but even out of the box the reed took little to no adjusting.

Great bags! Priced fair. Fast delivery. I do recommend these for your windsocks. Light weight and durable.

This thing broke within 2 weeks of just practicing in my car. Reed sounds wack now. Starts squeaking. Bummer.

I bought this call expecting it to be easier to do double clucks and call faster but I actually call better with my 25 dollar call I’ll keep using it and hopefully it gets better but I am disappointed

It’s a great teal call and is louder so I think it is more effective than most.

Bought this call many years ago, so perhaps they improved it between now and then, but found it in an old box and gave it a try. Then remembered why it’s sat in a box for years untouched. Pathetically difficult to blow, stuck reeds, gives RNT and Double Reed calls a bad name.

I’ve used a Buck Gardner Double Nasty for the last few years and it kicks butt. I tried to cut down this thing and that still didn’t help.

I bought this call because it had a weird shaped tone board and the description said it has a deeper tone. I also own a Quack Head P. I. P. E. which has a soft deeper tone for a single reed. This Quack Stacker call is indeed a deep sounding call with that distinct Quack Head sound.

It has a short barrel and easy to use although the very low end soft chuckles are difficult to obtain at my intermediate level of calling. I have never had the reed stick even when over blowing the call.

It is a call that I can count on to make a deep raspy hen sound. This call can get loud and I would say it is a mediate range call. It does a real good hunting feed call/chatter. Even does a decent bouncing hen or hiccup call.

This call is very easy to blow and does not require a ton of air. It is a great beginner call because it can be mastered quickly and easily. It is also pretty loud and can cover a great range of sounds from clucks to moans.

I gave a 4 star rating because the mouth piece had a seam left on it from the molding process that was sharp and could potentially cut someone’s lip. A simple file took that right off and the call was good to go.

I have used it for 3 seasons and it has called in and finished many birds over both water and land. Although I may purchase other calls this one will remain on my lanyard.

This was the first goose call I ever bought and probably the only one I’ll ever get! I learned how to call geese with it and it is very user friendly and even an advanced caller can get the most out of this call.

I am a very half decent caller with 10 yrs experience , and this is by far the lowest piece of junk you could erver put your hands on ! For beginners , try out a Canada hammer 2 , PRACTICE. Then move up a notch at a time.

Mine didnt even make it out of the truck onto my lanyard from the sportshop !.

This is my second duck call. Buyed this one to have more diversity and because it s not expensive. For the price, i cannot hope better. Prefer this one to my sweet meet by Tim Ground. and the price is similar.

This is a great duck call sounds good!!! Im a novice when it comes to duck calls, but it called them in for me i also use the D C triple threat. and i like this one better does not stick at all in the field on sale now buy one we wont be disappointed.

Got this call for my son as I have the acrylic version and he was always hinting at me getting him one. When I saw there was a poly version I immediately purchased one. Comparing it my acrylic Ive found it sounds nearly as good and is louder.

Overall a very well priced great sounding nice looking call. I may have to get myself one.

I have bought two of these over the years. This is hands down my favorite poly-carbonate call. It is a high call and sounds like a young hen when blown correctly. Also, as many have said it is a pretty quiet call compared to others however because of this it is a great call for finishing those weary late season mallards.

This call takes very little breath to blow and is very easy to over blow into making it sound very bad Also, I would recommend, if you know what you are doing, to take the reeds and wedge out as soon as you get it and clean them and then reinsert them correctly.

My second call needed this as it sounded very poor before. This is a great call for beginner to intermediate callers. If you are an advanced caller you probably aren’t reading this and if you are then go for an acrylic version of this call as they are incredibly better sounding, more durable than the poly-carbonate and have a much greater range than the poly.

But in my opinion this is by far the best poly-carbonate call I have ever blown and recommend it to everyone. Also everyone should remember that mylar reeds have a break in period so if you are not pleased with this call after you wash the reeds and reinsert them correctly then just keep blowing it and I am fairly certain it will break in and soon become a call you grab first most every time.

first day using this call. every Mallard in the pond was stopping and turning right around. It is smooth and raspy with the right amount of ease to blow. Super easy for beginners to learn as well as the more advance callers.

I will wear this call out this season knowing that it will bring more birds.

Great call for the money, its really easy to blow, definitely more a close range duck call it’s a little too high pitched when you get on it. I have the Zink ATM Greenhead, that’s my go to and the PH 2 is my closer.

I’ve been trying to find something wrong with this call, and I can’t. When I was new to calling, I needed something easy to blow, because as a former smoker, my lungs were trash. Looked everywhere for reviews on this issue and found nothing.

Bit the bullet and went with this call. The call quality is top notch. The sound is even better. And the best part – that reed breaks over so easy. You don’t need to be a pro to blow this call. But you’ll sound like one.

3 years later – if I had to grab ONE call to take in the layout – this is it. You won’t be disappointed. Getcha one.

When I first bought this call, I was a little disappointed. As a neophyte goose hunter, I was hoping a more expensive call would be easier. And this call is expensive. In reality, it is like a better quality violin, and can perform with more subtle nuance and control but takes practice.

To master it, it might take a little work, but not too much. In the end, it will sound like a goose and not a kazoo. I recommend it.

This call is my favorite call I’ve blown/owned. I’ve had calls from zink, sean Mann, Tim grounds, Jeff foiles and have blown almost all others. I think this is the best call out there. You can get high pitch and low pitch sounds out of it.

However it is a call that requires more air and attention to back pressure. I’m not saying that the other calls I own/owned were not good, they were. Especially the zink N. O. S and C. O. D as well as foiles SMH, they all sound great.

However I like that the Tim grounds calls take more air to run. I feel more sounds can be attained from this more consistently with greater range on the bottom (the call doesn’t break over to easily or when you don’t want it to).

Some will say that it is tuned tight or that it won’t break, I assure you that they all will. These calls are all hand tuned by the grounds crew. They just take some getting used to with air presentation and the back pressure.

Bottom line is if you put the time into learning how to blow the call, it sounds great and is one of the most versatile calls on the market.

This call is worth the money. The titanium allows for a rich tone and insane control on highs and lows. I compared this to some of the loudest calls out there and the Impulse packs a serious punch for its size.

It can be as loud as a cut down call and can also drop decibels down low enough to compete with a quiet timber call. The gut design is unique and almost reminds me of a goose call. This is the only call I use now and I’m very please with it.

I love this call. Sounds awesome. Dirty low end, great top end. Soft when you need to be, loud when you need to be. Guy that commented below with a 1 star review must not know how to blow a duck call.

This was my first zink call and I love it! I have had this call for 2 years now and it continues to call in ducks hunt after hunt. It is very easy to blow and get those low notes. when going for a high ball it is relatively easy to overblow.

If you’re willing to put in the practice is a great call.

I love this call. I am an experienced duck caller, and often prefer this little poly call to a lot of my other acrylic calls. Top to bottom – duck.

This is an awesome call. Have three seasons on a poly Single Shot and still going strong. Very easy to operate and the judges (ducks) love its sound. I must say though, I hunt ALOT and have been blowing a duck call for 35 years.

This is a single reed. If you don’t know your way around a duck call, you will have to learn to control your air pressure to get duck out of any single reed. That’s why they are great to learn on. they force you to learn proper mechanics to get a duck out of them.

If you don’t want to learn and just want duck to come out when you blow. you need to purchase a DOUBLE Shot~~.

This is my go-to call for hunting eastern Canadas. Very easy to blow and has an awesome range of sounds. I have expensive Sean Mann’s and others on my landyard that I now ignore because the Field Proven Poly Raptor can out-do them in my hands and it’s a tiny fraction of the price of those others.

My buddies will steal this one off my lanyard first when they’ve forgotten theirs. It is high-pitched so if you want something lower for greaters or whatever, try FP’s aftershock or other models. I’m not prostaff.

I just want to get the word out about an awesome call for less $. A heck of a deal!.

This call can produce great sounds from hails to feeding. However, I gave it 3 stars because the reed sticks when it was only in the lower 40s outside. I had to switch to my double reed which didn’t stick at all.

Kind of frustrating cause I had high hopes for this call. Ill keep hunting with it on my lanyard as I have other calls I can use if this continues to happen. I will decide if it’s worth keeping or not.

It was only $30 so I’m not out a lot. I was hoping it would perform better.

The Rush is an amazing goose call for those midwestern early to mid season honker hunts. You can get really low but also run it really fast. Great for someone who is trying to become a better goose caller.

Pretty decent call for the price. My first impression of the call was “wow I need to shave this reed a lot more” well once I broke the call open I realized the reed wasn’t shaved at all like description claims ! Other than that call is solid.

Don’t buy any other goose call! I bought this call and it sounds like a natural Canada goose. Don’t waste your money on any other call
