20 Best Zinus Bed Frame (2022 Updated)

I’m so grateful that I ordered this Zinus Metal Smartbase! I currently have so much body pain from injuries. And it’s an easy assembly. Just a few screws and that’s it! My biggest problem was getting it out of the box and moved around.

I cut the box off around it and pulled out each piece as needed and assembled each. Just tightening a few screws. Then, finally, I was able to find a neighbor to move pieces together where I needed it.

Adding the final two screws! He grumbled the entire five minutes. Lol People just often don’t want to be bothered. Which, is why I really needed this to be easy! If I could give this a hundred stars, I would!.

Although I’m on a brand X mattress (still wonderful) I’m getting ready to be a repeat customer for another one (this time a full, any coupons?)! The smartbase high profile frame is THE smartest way to go for savings multiple ways: 1.

No box spring needed, saves money (but you knew that!). 2. On the disposal end, the box spring won’t go to the land fill, maybe you thought of that too! 3. If you are able to plan in advance during home construction, you can actually incorporate this feature into your closet and furniture space, realizing that this space can replace a broom closet by keeping the vacuum under the bed, or perhaps storage containers of off season items.

and reduce the need for storage lockers, even closets and bureaus. For a mobile home, if people are able to get a tankless water heater, (1 x 2 feet cubic rectangle on the wall) both work together to allow existing floor space to be used more efficiently.

Definitely do not recommend this product if you are looking for the KING size. The King size is 10cm too big for a standard king mattress. The bed base cover also didn’t fit either. Would recommend though for other sizes just not the KING.

Bare in mind that this is a bed that comes a box and has to be built as it has metal pieces. So easy to build and to move around, the instruction manual is there too and it came with a ratchet which made tightening the screws easier.

I did have an issue with this King bed but customer service and the team were so helpful and had the product refunded. Temple and Webster is definitely a good company, just wouldnt recommend the KING size.

This Zinus bedframe was exactly what we were looking for. Simple and functional. The frame arrived very well packaged. Assembling was super easy and straight forward. We were super impressed at how well all the pieces fit together.

This is typically a challenge with mail ordered furniture but not with this brand. Zinus had all the pieces cut exactly correct. Everything fit together perfectly. The bed frame is very sturdy and solid feeling.

No shifting or rocking whatso ever. Our queen foam mattress fit perfectly with just enough room for the bedding to hand correctly. Overall, super impressed with this frame and Zinus’s attention to detail for a well made product!!.

The materials are good, the packaging and expected construction process are empathetically designed for the customer. Unlike IKEA style platforms, however, this platform has no overlapping edge to hold the mattress in place, so be sure to order a good mattress with some weight.

We chose a NapQueen Victoria 10″ Hybrid Mattress and it works well. The hybrid mattresses are much less expensive than the ‘known’ types, but our sense is that it should provide good support and do the job for 5-8 years.

It is both comfortable and firm. Zinus platform beds do include a kind of unsophisticated way of holding a lighter mattress in place by allowing the user to peel back a strip of paper on two of the support slats, revealing a semi-sticky surface.

I’m not sure it will continue to work over time, but again, with the heavier mattress, a user will have no issues. If you are worried about the middle legs needed to support the side rails, I was too.

It tends to indicate lower quality, but we bought a full-sized bed (nice for less expensive sheets and more variety and makes rooms look bigger too), and we use European-style comforters (duvets) in queen size that hang over the platform by 8 inches or so.

The legs are nice bits of wood however, and do not look cheap. So, if you need a sturdy, relatively inexpensive bed with warm brown tones that can look formal or casual, this one will do the job.

The materials and finish are good. The corners fit together very snugly and needed some extra persuasion to slide in. It seems very sturdy and the cross pieces support my mattress & me just fine. There’s a little bit of squeek from one corner when I get in & out.

It’s on carpet and I don’t have any problems of it shifting around. I like having room underneath to store things. The slight footboard keeps the mattress in place but still lets me stick my feet out or sit on the end of the bed.

No problems with delivery or the condition of the package when it got here.

The absolute genius and brilliance of including a ratcheting Allen wrench in the installation kit is all you need to know. From starting to open box, to writing this review was less than 30 minutes. And I’m sure that’s slow considering how incredibly easy it was.

Numbered instructions, clear and concise visuals, and again. a RATCHETING Allen wrench! Well done Zinus. I will definitely look for more ways to give you my money after this experience.

I don’t think I’ve ever reviewed a product before, but I was compelled to write about this one. I dread assembling furniture because of the experience of a certain Scandinavian big box retailer. This was an absolute joy to assemble.

Quality workmanship, quality hardware, extra hardware (just in case), excellent quality tools, and very easy instructions with marked pieces that made it impossible to do something wrong. I enjoyed assembling it.

That’s something I never thought I would ever say about anything. A huge thank you to those who made it possible. Your efforts are greatly appreciated.

This is a fantastic bed! We got the twin size for my 8 year old after his loft bed became far too squeaky. He has been sleeping in this new one for almost a week now and he loves it! I love it because it is SO attractive! I love the black metal and wood combination.

It is also very sturdy and does not squeak at all! My husband (who assembled it) is very impressed with it (which says A LOT!). He was so happy and impressed that the kit even included the tools needed to put it together, the allen wrench! And, it’s a nice Allen Wrench too, NOT the small L-shaped one that some times comes in kits.

Another great design feature is that the wood slats are connected by fabric so you don’t need to worry about one of the slats falling through. My husband was able to put this bed together all by himself in about 15 minutes.

It’s quite heavy! We had to unpackage it on the porch then carry the pieces in to my sons room because the box was too big and heavy to carry through the house and up the stairs. This is a great, high quality bed.

I am now considering buying the same one but in a queen size for myself! I’m so impressed and will recommend this to anyone!.

I really never review stuff – especially put it together yourself furniture. I expect normally for it to be a long annoying process with a tiny Alan key. Building this bed was seriously the easiest thing ever.

The design is great, they give you an Alan key socket wrench, and it’s insanely sturdy. The video to put it together is literally only one minute. All products that you have to build yourself should model after Zinus.

I bought the Wen Deluxe Wood Platform Bed Frame previously in a Queen size and loved that it came with a metal support beam in the center for extra sturdiness (as visible in the photos on the website).

When I needed a twin size bed frame, I decided to purchase the same model. I was disappointed to learn that the twin-size does not include the metal support beam in the center! No mention of this on their website or in any customer reviews.

Decided to keep anyway, but the misleading description was frustrating. Also, the texture of the wood on this bedframe was a lot rougher than the smooth, glossy wood of my previous purchase. Must be a change in the design.

That being said – arrived quickly and very easy to assemble!.

I couldn’t be happier with this purchase. It shipped quickly, arrived perfectly packaged and was a breeze to put together by myself. It’s very sturdy and well designed and definitely looks more expensive than it was.

Whoever thought of securing the slats with Velcro deserves a bonus! I bought this one for the spare bedroom. Next I will buy one for my bedroom.

Great light weight but quality frame. Works perfectly for smaller spaces where there is no room for a header/footer or to add custom head board. Not low to the ground and plenty of storage space under.

Very easy instructions and nice reversible wrench style Allen key to put together with ease. Sticky pads on slats stop mattress moving. But put them all in the centre not the ends as I did as then hard to put on fitted sheet around edges.

Unfortunately one hole on the end frame had gone over a weld and screw didn’t fit. I could still use it in the process but asked for replacement part for durability. Did this on a Sunday and had a phone call within 2 hours to confirm express 48hrs of delivery of new part or other options.

Awaiting delivery as took me time to get back to them. Overall very happy for price.

This bed frame design is very well thought-out. The instructions were extremely simple and the bed was very easy to put together. It’s very sturdy and provides great support for a mattress without necessitating a box spring.

We were looking for a simple bed frame that was low to the floor for our toddler. A lot of bed frames that don’t require a box spring still sit very high off the floor. This one is the perfect height at about seven inches.

If you are looking for a simple, sturdy frame, this is it!.

This product, once assembled, will provide an excellent base for my new mattress. Unfortunately, due to poor health I haven’t managed to construct it yet. I am actually thinking of putting it together myself.

This is because the manufacturer has assured the buyer that the bed frame is easy to assemble. There aren’t any annoying screws as the joints are wedged in position. I am attracted to the simplicity of the frame.

Love it, the inatructions for building it seems complicated at first but then when you get it, it’s just like Legos. The packaging for the tools and screws were also amazing. Never seen something packed so nicely with the customer’s experience in mind.

The bed is completely solid. If it moves or creaks that means you haven’t pushed bars all the way. Use the rubber mallet and make sure the screws are tight. The hex head wrench that came with it is so helpful and convenient.

It really makes the assembly so easy! Would definitely recommend this bed. The black is cheaper than white by the way.

A lot of screws! Great tools supplied. Sturdy. No squeaks. Up to 500lb (about 230kg) weight limit. Not good for tall people as have to be careful not to hit their head. Not a normal floor to ceiling curtain height.

Need to put through curtain eyelets before assembling. Head rails a double pillow height. Need pads for legs on wood floors. Disassembled will fit in a car/ute lengthwise with front seat down. About 40kg.

Overall very happy so far. Great for price. Great service.

Gorgeous bed! It was pretty easy put together with the help of one other person. It looks stunning and sturdy. For the price and the look, I’d recommend it for any bedroom adult, kids, guest, etc. The wood color looks exactly like the photo.

My only negative is the wasted space underneath. There is a lip that hangs down that prevents you from placing anything taller than like 8in, but there is room to fit about 12in. If you have stuff to store that you will never access them perfect.

I love this bed!! I ordered two for our guest room. They arrived extremely well packed. Each piece of styrofoam packing material was inside a thin plastic wrapping, so there were no bits of styrofoam all over the room when we unpacked the beds.

There were tools that came with the directions to use to put the bed together, and those tools were good quality. My husband had no difficulty assembling the beds. The bed itself is very well made, and it looks classy.

Although the bed is advertised as mid-century modern, it also goes with transitional décor. Although these beds could be used for kids or teens, I bought them for adult use because they can accommodate adult weight.

Very happy with this product. Once it was dispatched delivery quick. Came in a compact box with easy to follow instructions and clearly labeled pieces, was easily put together in a small bedroom and colour is even nicer then i thought, very versatile style and colour.

I have received SO many compliments. The back is a little shorter then I expected once mattress and pillows are on but very minuscule issue. Very happy with this purchase and for the price!.

I got this because I live by myself in a walk up studio apartment, so I needed something compact and lightweight. While lightweight, the queen frame package is the width of a twin mattress, so it was cumbersome to get upstairs.

One of the legs was not properly attached, which took some muscle and frustration to fix. BUT, once assembled, this thing is exactly what I was hoping for. Sturdy, no squeaks, no sliding, compact, and very affordable.

Would recommend, just beware transport and assembly might be frustrating.

I’ve purchased this bed frame several times and have loved the simplicity and storage capability on top of the quality and sturdiness. It’s been a great bed frame and I love the addition of the non-slip tape versus my last version.

I never realized how useful it is since I have a bed skirt that always moves around and the tape helps keep it in place! This is a great bed frame and allows you to do away with a box spring which is another frustrating cost and big item to upkeep.

Seems strong and love the storage. This took mostly common sense to put together. I did get one piece on backward and had to go back and turn it around. But other than that it was a breeze to put together.

It seems very sturdy. I have a version of this but in a adjustable frame I’ve had for 7 years now. The middle bar can be a pain when moving or rearranging where to put your bed you must get that middle bar fixed right to stay where you need it once you move your bed.

I love the new height of 18 inch of the bed frame. It gives my small house more place for storage underneath the bed frame for things you do not want to stick out in your cold or hot storage building.

Hopefully it will be as good as my other metal frame, and I don’t see any reason it wouldn’t. Don’t think twice about buying speciality if you need extra storage.

When I first opened the box I thought I accidentally just bought the world’s heaviest headboard. but that’s because the entire bed fits inside of the headboard!! It looks fantastic, was not difficult to put together, feels great, and if I ever move, it will all come apart and fit back into itself.

I was very doubtful about purchasing a bed online, but gave it a try and to my surprise it exceeded my expectation. Purchased when it was on sale. It Was delivered at my doorsteps. Assembly was easy and had all parts and tools needed.

Wow! This bed looks more than the price! The design is really nice, nothing about this says cheap. I couldn’t stop saying how much I loved this bed that I made sure I write a review and let everyone know! Good for a female/male bedroom.

The middle support beam is welded crookedly, which means the two pairs of holes that are meant to be parallel are NOT parallel. I was only able to screw in one side. I used zipties on the other side.

I’m confident there’s enough redundancy that the fix will do, but I never should have had to FIX a new in box product. And another issue I’ve had is this thing is made out of metal. Hard metal. Don’t expect it to be silent.

Do expect it hurt like heck when you inevitably knock your toes, calves and knees against the sides of this thing because it is about an inch wider on every side than my queen mattress. I’ve always thought the phrase “Buyer Beware” was overdramatic, and the phrase “You get what you pay for” was forced negativity, but these both apply!.

If you want something minimalist but sturdy look no further – this is the option. I tend to keep my beds in the corners of rooms, so they don’t typically move around a lot. There are occasions where my mattress will tend to slide off the side of the frame, but for the price and functionality of this frame I cannot complain at all.

It has space underneath than I can fit my full size checked bag laying down underneath, storing it when I’m not using it. On top of this, I can also fit 4 of those under-the-bed fabric zippered storage bins underneath.

I can fit two of those, jam-packed, stacked on top of each other underneath, so I’m sure I could even fit more. It’s so useful, so minimalist, and a great price. I haven’t had any problems, and I’ve had it for a year and a half already.

I’m not generally the type to leave reviews, but this is the second bed frame in this specific style that we got from Zinus, and they are (in my opinion) the best bang for your buck for a few reasons.

Not only is it inexpensive with a modern look, but construction-wise its legs are spaced in a good place that you don’t bang your toe on that middle support leg and without all the extra support legs, there’s more room for storage under.

The frame itself is VERY sturdy for a “variety of adult activities” and doesn’t start to get wobbly over time like most other economical bedframes. The instructions are easy to follow and the bamboo slats are sustainable and have a slide proof sticker on them so your mattress doesn’t move around.

Plus they send you a few cute thank you cards to use, just for the heck of it.

When I tell you I LOVE this bed frame… I’ve had this bed frame for almost 4 years now and I love it. I wasn’t sure at first about the wooden slats because I’ve had wooden slats before and they have broken very easily but alas! Not a single one has broken! The slats Velcro to the frame which is nice because they don’t slide around and the slats also have tape on them so your mattress sticks to the slats and also doesn’t slide around so that’s a win! The really thought out that design! The only downside is that if you do t put your mattress on centre the first time it is VERY hard to move.

However I have been able to un stick the mattress from the slats a number of times and it’s still sticky enough to hold the mattress in place. The metal is good quality and has not bent and it came with tools! So if you’re just moving into a place and don’t have your tools handy, no problem they provided some! Oh and did I mention they’re cheap! This frame cost me a little over $100! This brand itself is amazing quality for amazing prices!.

Very sturdy and comes with a special tool to make all of the screwing in action easier when putting the fame together. You can do this on your own, however I found it easier having my sister hold things in place as I screwed in all of the screws.

This bed frame is definately what you are looking for if you have a lot of things/clutter you need to store away out of sight. Just find a bed skirt you are happy with that fits from the top of the bed frame down to the floor and you won’t even notice your underbed is filled with clutter.

I was able to fit all of my Christmas stuff, along with all of my bagged up winter items under the bed; clearing up room in my linen cupboards for my more used items. Plus I was able to fit my laundry baskets under the bed at the end where I can still easily access them come laundry day.

I was not expecting to fit so much under the bed, I am over the moon with this as I absolutely hate the sight of clutter in my home. Very happy![misc_pict][grin][emoticon][misc_pict].

Brilliant. I like this bed. Sturdier and better built IMO than many of the cheap bedframes available and looks great. Fitted together quickly and simply (REALLY loved the ratchet hex head tool !!!). Also love that there are no middle uprights each side to kick your toes on.

Only question mark will be that the mattress sits on top of the base, not ‘inside’ and I have some concerns about the mattress slipping around a little (& the Velcro strips supplied arguably reinforces that small concern).

Probably not a big deal unless its being jumped on by 10 years old’s all day, but one thing I’ll be watching as we use it. Overall very happy.

Best bedframe ever – especially if you’re prone to moving! Removes the need for a boxspring and provides LOADS of stroage space. Folds slimmer than my beach chair and a 10 year old could set it up. Literally – no screws needed to use it! IF you want to attach a head or footboard, it does come with the corner pieces and all hardware to attach – most frustrating thing was the fact I kept dropping the wingnuts (can’t blame anyone but me for that – ha).

To my delight – IT CAME WITH A BEDSKIRT!!!! Plenty of storage space under the bed for those plastic bins. Perfect for a teen who’s going to move out and take their furniture with them but also a SUPER affordable way to slap up a guest bed in your office.

We got this frame because our box spring was broken and wore out. The frame we were not sure would hold our weight as we are both large people. But the frame held up great and as been a great purchase.

We have had it a couple weeks now and no complaints. One tip though if you buy this type of frame is make sure you have a good mattress or mattress topper. Our mattress is pretty worn out too but did not realize it until we put on this frame.

Luckily we had a topper and that helped. My wife really likes that it is tall enough to store stuff underneath and plans on getting some plastic totes to organize the bedroom and closet a little better.

Frame was relatively easy to assemble. The directions were the same as having none and just figuring it out for yourself. I mean it’s not that complicated, but there is a lot of extra hardware for what I assume are different configurations.

This however leaves you feeling like you have put it together wrong or are missing something. Short of that it’s sturdy and a perfect height and does way better than the traditional box springs. 100% would recommend even with the terrible instructions.

I ordered this online and it arrived quickly. The box was undamaged, so I was happy about that. I assembled it by myself, so it took a couple hours. Everything went together smoothly, with the exception of the legs at the foot of the bed.

For some sadistic reason the manufacturer designed this with some type of idiotic twist lock mount. The twist lock would not engage, it kept popping loose. As a result, there’s only one bolt holding the end legs on.

I’m hoping it’ll hold, but who knows. Other than that, the rest of the assembly went ok. Another issue was the instructions: in the instructions, the parts are lettered, while the parts themselves have numbers on them, not letters.

Thank heavens that the pictures in the instructions didn’t lose anything in translation. The messed up twist lock and the mislabeled instructions are the reason I docked this two stars.

I took a chance on this bed and I’m so glad I did! It was easier to put together and it comes with a ratchet and an allen key, which doesn’t sound like a big deal but really makes a difference. The instructions were easy to follow, all the screws fit without much effort.

My friends and I were expecting this to be a long process with lots of frustrated screaming, it took us 40 min total and that’s probably because we ended up laughing a lot. The bedframe itself is sturdy and comfortable.

And the Velcro strips for the slats are such a good idea. I used to sleep on a bed where the slats would slip off, no amount of duct tape was keeping them in place, so this was great. 10/10, would def recommend.

I bought this in the black, twin-sized form. A lot of minimalistic bed frame designs are not sturdy, but I’m pleased to see that this one in particular is! (I do have carpets in my room so that might be a factor so I don’t know how it will perform on floors.

) I am not handy nor am I good with tools, but this was an easy assemble –15 minutes or less– and the tools provided helped that process. Although, the reason that I am giving this a 4/5 stars is because one of the metal corner pieces was slightly bent and I had to use a hammer to reshape it so that the pieces fit in together.

It may have just been handled poorly during shipment and not during production, and it was indeed a simply fix, but still. The metal wasn’t chipped either, everything else was in perfect condition straight out of the box.

The wooden platforms also have an additonal “non-slip” tape feature so that the mattress doesn’t move or slide off the bed frame. And the height of the bed makes it great for underbed storage! Overall, I really liked this purchase and thought it was definitely worth the money.

Fast postage, high quality, thoughtful packaging. The assembly of this item is very easy and every little Detail is thought out for this bed. Every letter and word Matches to the piece. So if a letter said M then you Mach it to another wood piece that says M ( very easy).

The bed is every steady and has flat wood slats which is way better for your mattress so it will not sag over time and cause back issues like the curve ones. The colour of this really captures the mid century modern feel, a beautiful dark walnut colour with elegant stilted legs with a slight gold gold rim at the bottom.

It’s also a higher bed (not that high) compared to the cheap low beds. It’s got a good hight and it’s looks more expensive and because it’s higher you can fight a lot of storage at the bottom. I like that the headboard is also adjustable to make it higher or lower.

If you are wanting to buy then then I recommend to get it.

this bed came in 2 weeks earlier than the intended date. it was difficult to put inside so make sure you have someone who can help. For those who do not know, all of the materials you need come inside the headboard.

They also give you two tools that can help you to tighten the screws!! Setting up the bed took me around 2 hours but that’s because it’s my first time doing this. The instructions were clear and easy to follow.

This bed is very sturdy, the slats do not move at all. It’s only been about an hour that I had it up but I’m loving it so far. I recommend :)!!!.

If you can’t lift a heavy box, have this delivered straight to your door! It was a heavy box, due to the wood and pieces and it comes in a very long rectangular box (which is the size of the headboard).

Anyways, besides that the assembly of the bed is not too difficult but you have to know how to read the instructions. It does help to have another person with you so you can cut short time, but use this as a great opportunity to bond if it’s for you and your loved one.

You don’t need any tools, everything is provided and only one screw (the J) is the one you will have to add to the bed. Everything else is there and you just need to unscrew it a little and screw it back to get the piece on the bed.

(It will make sense later lol). The bed frame is nice and comfortable for the price. It goes really great with my bedroom set and it has a great elegance to it. Just note that the headboard does not cover your entire head but it’s not a huge problem.

For 5’5” it covers up to the starting point of my head, but if I’m slouching a little, which I do anyways, it works well. Overall, if you’re looking for something that’s not too complicated, easy, and will look great then go for this buy.

This was my first bed frame and I think it’s a great start for someone who’s looking for a quick buy with great quality. ***Did not experience the weird smell :)***.

This bed is very solid. Holds more weight than more expensive bed frames that I looked at. I was able to put it together by myself in less than 2 hours. Instructions were simple and all the tools needed were enclosed.

I read many reviews before buying this. In one review it stated the center support keeps falling. In my model that’s impossible, the center support is locked in with 3 screws not one. The outside part of the frame had all the screws perfectly mitered in so basically you just loosen them and snap them in place and tighten.

It doesn’t shake, it doesn’t make noise when you are with your significant other. Couldn’t be happier with purchase.

I would recommend Lorrick all the time! I bought two twin 18″ beds. The boxes came great. They were light enough for me to carry from one end of the house to the other. Opened and the bed was organized nicely.

Took me all of 5 minutes to put each bed together. The snap in place was super easy and good for one person. I needed no help. The boards are tied together and have velcro which also lines the inside of the frame.

This keeps the boards as a predisposed distance with no shifting. Once in place they were not moving. In addition on a board at the head and foot of the bed there was a strip of double sided tape. Peel the cover and when you put your mattress down it prevents it from moving.

This was a little perk i love!!! There is no headboard or footboard and it seems they thought of everything. My daughters love them and they had no shifting at all. The height is 18″ and why was it not as popular???? I went and got those pop-open fabric boxes from DG and they slide right under.

Also goo height for easy cleaning (we have hardwood flooring) but even with carpet and vacuuming. I would suggest buying non slip pads if you have hardwood. The corners are not rough or sharp but a scuff is a scuff!!! Also got a little perk pack of thank you cards.

I like this bed! While the package itself was heavy, it was very easy to follow instructions on the directions for setup, as well as all the pieces have letter or number label stickers on them. It comes with a Allen wrench and screws which is all you need for setup.

Very stable, affordable price, fits in smaller spaces than regular bed frames, no need for box springs, sleek and sturdy, enough room for my under-bed storage containers, and i was able to build it by myself.

Very satisfied with buying this. Came in only a few days from purchase to delivered.
