20 Best Zipline To Buy (2022 Updated)

The installation video is misleading in that it makes it appear the required tension can be achieved by a person pulling on the cable. It simply is not possible for a person, or even a couple of people, to pull hard enough to get the cable sufficiently taut.

We ended up connecting the end of the cable to a lawn tractor to pull the cable tight, but unfortunately only after wasting a couple of hours. It would be better for Hearthsong to be up front about what is required for proper installation to save everyone time and aggravation.

After installation the product has been working quite well. My four daughters (ages 5-10) and several friends in the same age range have been enjoying it. The carriage glides smoothly down the cable.

The stop is a bit abrupt but none of them seem to mind and they hang on just fine.

The box says “easy to assemble; takes 2 adults 30 minutes”. I hired some guys to install it. Three professionals spent almost FOUR hours. Then. after following the instructions to the letter. the slope of the zip-line instructions recommends is SO steep, its is not safe! My 10 year old daughter came to the end so fast, she slid the bolts.

If one of the guys hadn’t been there to catch her, she would have slammed into the tree; would have been injurious! SO. cost much more to install than we paid for the product and currently the zip-line is not useable.

To make it useable, I will have to replace the hardware and pay guys to come back and try again. I called Heartsong (the manufacturer) and was told b/c the zip line was purchased through Zulily, they can’t help me even w/ replacing the hardware.

Unfortunately, I made the purchase in January for a summer birthday. So by the time I got the product out of the box. Zulily’s 30-day return policy had expired. Super frustrating!!.

Good materials and construction. A few caveats- according to other reviewers the rubber stopper gives you a stiff jolt when you hit, so I bought a 6′ spring which cost a lot but gives an excellent result when my girl hits it and ricochets backwards.

I still have the rubber stopper in-line as a backup. The install takes at least 2 people who are handy, and one must have experience with rigging. Even with a come-along or cable puller this is a tricky installation.

Don’t try it without these tools. The trolley is great; there is no place to get your fingers caught in it. The seat is a little small especially for adults, an upgrade may be in order. Next step is building a platform so I don’t have to tug the kiddo from the low point to the high point every time.

I bought the zip line for my granddaughter. She loves it ! My son said it was top quality. The plan is a treehouse with the zip line attached. Fun for many years. Holds 200 lbs. So grandma can ride too.

Fun for all at the grandparents! Our grandkids are in heaven over all the fun this company’s products supply! We are lucky to have all the trees necessary!

So far, our kids are loving it. It has been installed about a week and it gets used daily by kids ages 6-10. My husband, who is fairly handy, had it installed in a few hours. It could definitely go faster if you have two strong, handy people working together.

Fun zip line for kiddos! Yes it’s horrible to tighten! The rubber stopper is worthless causing safety issue! Rubber stopper has fallen apart less than 3 weeks after installing! Only 1/2 of rubber stopper is on as it’s already worn through.

Having to buy new stopper after spending so much on it really doesn’t seem right! Handle bars are nice as they cover the line. Really need a platform on both ends as directions want you to have it fairly high in the air.

It definitely gives quite a jolt at the end. My 9 year old didn’t hold on tight enough and ended up being thrown off flat on his back. We’ve moved it up and down quite a bit but it still jerks kiddos.

My 6 & 9 year old love it. A taller person is necessary to be out there constantly pulling the 1/2 destroyed stopper back up as it slides down line on each use. So far have has 5, 6, 9, and 10 year olds use it.

Beware neighbor kids will be over! Yes, I would recommend but with modifications.

This zip line is easy to install with two people. We watched the video and followed the instructions. It’s a great speed for kids of all ages. Kids aged 4-16 around our neighborhood all use it. My husband and I have even tried it a few times for fun! Don’t forget to factor in the cost of lumber to build a platform so that the kids can mount it themselves.

The lumber ended up costing us more than the zip line! I wish that there was a better braking mechanism. The rubber strip in the package does not provide enough brake support for the average kid. We invested in some additional rubber to slow the zip line down before reaching the end.

This allowed the stop to be less aggressive. Fun times!.

This was definitely money well spent for us! We purchased this for our kids last month (ages 9, 11, and 13). After taking it out of the box we were nervous about installing it correctly and I don’t think we really understood how it worked.

My husband wanted to return it but I said no we need to give us a try. We are not very handy. We were worried that installing it to high would make it hard for the kids to get on so we ended up installing lower than what was suggested in the manual and reviews.

We should have done what was suggested because the next day we ended up raising it about 6 feet on one end and 2 to 3 on the other. It is currently about 14 feet on the high end and 8 feet on the low end and this seems to be perfect.

Or distance is about 80 feet, but we wrapped the excess around the tree on the low end so that if we end up using other trees later on we can make it longer. We did buy two hay bales that we put at the lower end and this is where the kids get on.

We have a few additional hay bales along the course but these are not necessary. The rider gets on the zip line at the low end and one child pulls the rope That hangs underneath the seat to pull the rider to the high end.

We made the seat hang about 2 feet from the handlebars so our youngest does not have to stretch too much to hold on. We have had this now a month and the kids use it every day as long as it’s not raining.

Even our 13-year-old who tends to stay inside and play on electronics will come out to use it! Installation does take two people and some strength but the tension rod does most of the work of tightening.

I recommend not cutting any excess wire so it can be adjusted later if need be. Time to install initially took about 60 to 90 minutes. When we decided to raise it, It took about 40 minutes because we did have to loosen the tension rod and move the rope up on each end and then retighten.

The kids love the zip line, the grown-ups may be enjoying it also. The instructions are pretty straightforward and I was able to get most of it put together by myself. My only mistake was not realizing how far the starting point is from the tree.

I had a tree with a “Y” that I had planned to build a small platform off the tree but the trolley stops about 8′ away from the tree so I had to build a free-standing unit.

Very happy with the equipment I bought though the bungee break still needs to be installed. My challenges in setting up the zip line we complicated by a double slope – across a hill with a 40% slope that drops 11% along the zip line route.

Using a ladder to anchor my starting and end points was difficult on the slope and I couldn’t reach the launch anchor from the downhill side of the tree with my 14′ ladder. Nevertheless, it’s up and working for out 3 year old but still needs to be tightened to support the full weight of our heaviest rider.

Bottom line: we love it!.

This kit is heavy-duty and well constructed. I installed a 120’ zip line with no problems. The instructions are clear. All of the parts came well-packaged and labeled so there was no guess work as to what goes with what.

The adult “kids” and grandkids are going to love it!.

I couldn’t imagine seeing kids having so much fun swinging on a zip line! I would like to recommend a way for the kids to get on, on their own! Maybe using the tree ladder and using a safety for the kids to hold onto while they get on and release themselves! That would make it 10stars!.

This zipline is so much fun! My 11 year old daughter and her friends spend so much time outside now. Finally they get a break from their phones and electronics. Excellent purchase. Would highly recommend.

Awesome. Fun both day and night. Kids smile throughout ride. With longer length ride last 7-10 seconds. B/4 and Slackers have great products for children.

Awesome new product. Cuts out the glass quicker and cleaner then our old style did. Also a lot less breakage allowing us to use less string overall.

This line is very good,, doesn’t Frey easily like some others. Very thin so it’s good for foreign cars. So far have 10 cutouts and no issues.

I like this product, good strength, I get several removals every time I load up my removale tool, I primarily use the wrd bat and the line works perfectly fine

To use this you need one big ball that’s included in the set but also a regular size ball which is not included in the set. We had to take a ball from the magnetic canon (part of starter set) and could not use the magnetic canon while using the zip line.

Also you need to disassemble the zipline to store in its original box, one of the pieces snapped off while removing from zipline in first use.

If you have a child who likes making things and understanding how they work, Gravitrax is ideal. It stimulates the imagination and lets children create lots of different machines or models. They can learn basic physics through this – but mainly they practice manual dexterity and have lots of fun.

Bought as an ‘add on’ for our 9yr old Granddaughter for Christmas. First time she used it one of the white ‘n’ shaped bars snapped whilst taking it apart. We expected it to be more substantially made considering the age range it covers! Waiting on a response from Ravensburger customer services.

This kit is complete and easy to install; you can do this alone if you have a cummalong; the only time you will need another person is when you are tightening the turn buckle without one (you will need someone to lift the cable with a broom while tightening).

I was very impressed with this kit pertaining to it’s quality and price point – and the flashing lights. oh how the children loved that! Thank you BJs for selling this to me at a discount, it’s truly the best gift you could give a child.

This toy is awesome! We bought it for our 3 kids ages 6,8 and 12 but all the neighborhood kids enjoyed it all summer long. My husband has rode it several times too and had fun. Especially cool at night time since the seat lights up.

Bought this last weekend for my granddaughter had it up in about 45 minutes with 2 people. now she wants to come over every day lol. We have a little more tight than Slacker says too we also bought the Slacker Zipline Spring Break for 55 bucks great investment.

We will be buying a smaller one for the younger grand daughter now. Great times.

bought on sale and installed (with help) in about 30 minutes. I wasn’t impressed with the written instructions but there are some videos online (the turnbuckle, sling, and looped end of the long cable go on the end/low side) Brake works great – almost too great.

It’ll practically recoil you off of the seat. I think my biggest safety concern might be people walking into the line, so we might try painting it high-vis yellow or something. so far, the kids are having a blast – from age 8 to 22! I’m sure they’ll tire of it at some point and we’ll use it as a clothesline! knowing what we know now, we probably would have paid full price.

My kids (6 and 9) LOVE this zipline. They have wanted one for years and we were excited to find this one that met our criteria: simple installation, good reviews, and great price. This product definitely upgraded our backyard fun factor and gave our kids another way to be active outside.

Follow the instructions carefully and after a couple hours time (or less) your kids will have the time of their lives. I put this together with my Niece’s husband, for their kids. The spring at the end is a great safety feature.

It stops the zipline before you hit the tree!.

Setup the Slackers 100′ approximately 94′ between two trees on a gentle slope. Must have if you have the yard – Every kid who visits our house spends time zipping! My kids love showing it off. You could have a 50′ or so setup, but less than that wouldn’t be much fun.

Night or day, kids love zipping. After a lot of use, we have developed a few rules that make it fun and safer. A few simple rules – No pushing the other person faster. Must board the zipline in the middle (no ladders or chairs at the high side to board) and another person must pull you up – the person who pulls you up for your zip has thus earned the next turn.

Setup – Need two or three people for setup (I did it with my wife and a broken thumb). The final “pull” is hard and we used a ratchet-strap and extra u-bolts contained in the box to “pull” the line before the final clamping.

It’s important to follow the instructions; these were very helpful and user-friendly. One note I’ll make is that the line should rise the last few yards to slow the rider (the instructions have all the measurements to take so easy here).

Ours is still a little fast but slow enough – our kids LOVE hitting the end which flips their legs in the air a bit. All said, following the instructions and with a few simple rules we feel like this was the best purchase for our 3 kids.

Watch the dogs – There is a rope on the bottom of the seat to pull the rider up to the end. Our dogs have chewed this rope. We knew this going into the purchase as a potential outcome. The rope is frayed now – no big deal.

It was pretty easy to install AFTER we got a new piece to go around our tree. The cable that goes around the starting tree was only 1/2 the length that it needed to be. Luckily we had another longer piece of cable in the yard to use.

My tree is not that big either.

I went all out and put up steps and platform. would recommend this to anyone. Only down fall would be that the seat platform has to taken in when the temperature gets below 32 degree F. Being in the cold country, that is little bit of a pain.

Over all, a great buy.

Absolutely amazing product! Easy to install, clear directions for setup. Everything is well labeled and marked. Staff was well versed in knowing about the small kinks and issues associated with this type of product.

This product seems to be really good value for the price. It was quick and easy to set up too, I actually did it by myself even though the instructions call for a few helpers. My kids also loved it, couldn’t get enough of it.

So first of it’s not that easy to set up. But it would be a lot easier if the instructions were laid out better and were actually good enough to follow without having to go through a bunch of videos.

The seat setups are not the best for different size riders. It not junk. but the longer the line the better. Our line is 80feet.

I have one of these myself! This is a great product, lots of fun for the whole family. All you need is 2 relatively sturdy surfaces to attach the line to, and you have years of fun. 10/10, would recommend for anybody with children, or fun-loving adults like myself.

A “shocking value” e-mail turned me onto this 90′ zipline. I had been considering making my own, but it would have cost more than buying this kit. It is relatively easy to put up between two trees if you have proper spacing.

I had to do some engineering to attach one end to a separate garage, but it worked out well.

This went up fast and the directions were clear and easy to follow. I like having the seat for the kids. So far, only the kids have been on it and they both weigh well under 100 lbs, but it seems sturdy enough for someone heavier.

We are happy with this purchase.

The kit came in a timely manner. We were able to follow the instructions for a configuration that was closest to our backyard. The calculations were easy to follow. It was nice to have all the hardware that was needed to do the job.

The grandkids are having a blast with it and even grandpa and grandma have been know to take a few rides from time to time. I might have missed the item that said the sling-seat that came with the kit was for children only, but it still is sturdy enough for older people too.

I fabricated a wooden seat for adults that want to take a zip. Other than that, we are well pleased. One stop shopping.

Excellent, complete kit. Went up easy and fast. Tricky part was tensioning wire. Kids love it.

This by far is my kids new favorite activity outside. Definitely requires 2 people to set up as I had issues alone. My 4 year old absolutely loves the disk seat. The spring stop is like a dual ride. if they build enough momentum, they will bounce back and come 1/3 the way back up the line.

The zip line is great. My kids love it and have played nonstop since we installed it. Instructions, on the other hand, are awful. There is lots of missing information. Drawings are unclear. It took us about 3 hours to put together.

You will need at least three adults to assemble.

This is so easy to use and so easy to set up. Its fun for everyone! Not just my kids but my husband was having a blast too. It’s a long Zipline too, 70 feet!! Had to limit the angle of it so my kids wouldn’t go flying.

I was hesitant to try these because the APL Streamline didn’t fit me right and wasn’t comfortable. I decided to try these after seeing great reviews and they are worth the hype! So comfortable, fits TTS, and the fabric is very soft and comfortable.

The tongue doesn’t bother me at all and they have a lot of cushion. Definitely worth trying. Price is a little high but you get what you pay for with these.

Aesthetically the look of the shoes are really nice and it’s very lightweight however if you’re looking for stability for running this is not the best one because of the material that they used which is stretchable.

I’m an avid and loyal fan of the brand and I only use this brand (14 pairs) that I use for other trainings but this new line is just disappointing and not meeting my needs. It just collapsed in the medial arch portion.

I wasn’t expecting to love these as much as I do but it’s official; these are my all time favourite trainers! They are so incredibly comfortable, light and provide great support. They also look amazing! I didn’t want to love these but I can assure that they are worth every penny of their price tag! Will definitely be purchasing another pair as back up!.

the tie out seems okay but as another reviewer stated the plastic wheel is a piece of crap. We have used these before and the wheel was metal they lasted many years. The plastic wheel didn’t work from the beginning.

I just found one on another website with a metal wheel. unfortunately i didn’t see that one first. We bought two haven’t used the second one will be sending back or giving it away. Yes I did read the reviews.

Its cheap plastic that the pully is made of. It says it will support a 100 pound dog. Not so sure about that, maybe a 17 year old dog. If you need one for a weekend trip this may work for you. The clasp that connects the cable to the runner is even cheap.

My dog got it unhooked. Good thing she ran to me. Petco has some great item and employees. This one is a fail. Look for something better if its going to be an everyday runner.

I’ve had this in use for about a year. Set it up by myself. Love that my dog has the whole yard to play in now without getting tangled. Only thing is the cable on the trolley snapped once (due to extreme cold , for a couple of weeks straight it was below -20) and i wish I could buy just a replacement trolly rather than the whole thing.

Our family has purchased and enjoyed numerous north face products. This glacier full-zip hoody for our son was a disappointment. It is very thin and the zipper is not very robust. The fit was odd – short in the torso and long in the arms.

It appears to be an attempt at an athletic fit – with the stretchy fleece. Not impressed – was expecting something much more robust for the money. This should be half the price they are asking for considering how flimsy the materials are.

Bottom line: if your kids are athletic and play hard outdoors this will not last. But if you’re just out cruising for lattes and ice cream in the city with the kids this could be a good piece of urban street wear for them.

I bought this before going on a 4 hour a day walking trip in the south of England. although it hasnt got warm feautures, it protects you from the wind which is perfectly good enough ( I know from experience when on day 4 the winds were enough to knock you iver and the rain was painful!) and it is waterproof rnough to sustain constant strong rain at the top of a mountain.

the hood is great since you can adgust its size and although the zip isnt waterproof there are no concerns about that. The pockets are spacious amd the inner material is comfy. so, although it may not have that extra padding to keep you super warm the fact that it blocks out wind makes you feel warm so it is definetly enough in your typical gloomy weather, even more extreme ones as long as your not sub zero! As well as that, it looks slick and is light so its fashionable as well.

the sleeves are a bit wide but thats fine since your likeley to have a hoodie or something underneath. fits well though.

I purchased this item for my soon to be born son. It is very soft and stylish. This will be the first child for me and my partner, as well as the first grandchild for both of our parents. I wanted something comfy, and durable for my new son.

I love the color and the feel of this jacket. I am a big supporter of The North Face, and I own a several of their products. I have never been unsatisfied with a purchase. So very happy that I could find something nice for my future son from The North Face.

We set this up in our backyard and love it. My wife and I run a gymnastics school so we are always concerned about safety first and foremost. This has the smallest opening of any zipline I have seen.

After installing it I compared it to several online and was glad I purchased this one. Every model online was about the same price and seemed much easier for a kid to “do something stupid” and cut their finger off.

I am all for teaching your kids what not to do with a toy like this, but that won’t stop you from worrying when friends are over. This one I feel confident letting the kids be kids without me hovering over them the whole time.

Obviously, adult supervision is recommended, but I think we have all had those toys that you feel like you spend your whole day saying “no not like that or you will get hurt”. Gonna purchase another for our fun weeks at our gym.

May try to glue some plastic shield above the hand grips for that one. You can’t be too careful at your business.

I bought this for my niece and 2 nephews. We set it up for them in a little over an hour. They have been using it for 3 weeks every day for hours a day. We did have one of the clamps break in half because we over tightened it.

But luckily we had so. ething that worked to replace it. We would have had it set up quicker but we didnt pay attention to the fact that the start end of the zip line needs a smaller circumference tree than the end side of the zip line.

We just moved into our new house with 5 acres. we have 6 grandkids who love the room to run around but we had no yard toys for them. My wife saw this zipline and we thought it would be fun. These things didnt exist when we were kids.

It took about 45 minutes to set up and readjust after the first few riders but after that its been nothing but fun fun fun for the kids. Great buy and safe too.

Fantastic jacket. We live in the Pacific NW and I take my infant daughter outside on walks with her older brothers and this jacket keeps her perfectly dry and warm in the rain. She absolutely loves getting outside in any weather!! Each of my boys (3) also has a triclimate jacket.

We’ve been purchasing them for about 3 years now and they are excellent. Fantastic waterproof shell, great fleece liner for cooler weather, and all around excellent jacket. I take the boys on long 6 mile bike rides and these jackets are perfect for that, rain or shine.

Absolutely love this pink color for my daughter. Really, really adorable. Excellent quality. I have no complaints. I do order a size down, but size is very child/family dependent.
