10 Best Zombie Graphic Novels (2022 Updated)

“Marvel Zombies” is a great read and the kind of purchase ebay was made for. The book had gotten great buzz, but when I went to look for it I discovered the hardcover first edition was out of print everywhere, and really difficult to find.

I found it here for a decent price in great shape. The story itself is fascinating, full of dark comedy and way more violence than you would expect in a Marvel TPB. Without spoilers, some of Marvel’s most iconic figures go through some horrific moments.

It’s graphic too, so don’t expect to see things hinted at and then not shown. If it’s happening in the story, you’ll see it on the page. Be ready, and don’t give this to someone too young. This edition also comes with a collection of the variant covers for each issue, as well as the originals so you can compare.

Besides a pretty funny intro by Kirkman, that’s the only real bonus material but it’s fun to see how twisted the originals got. All in all, MZ is a great read for Marvel fans, Zombie fans, action fans, humor fans, basically just about anyone interested at all in this medium.

Give it a shot. You won’t be disappointed.

Marvel zombies is good but not great. It’s a fun read and I liked the fact that their brains could still function as if they were still human. My problem however is how some parts of the book were just plain cheesy (you will understand what I’m saying when the silver surfer comes in).

By saying that, I’m not trying to persuade you not to buy the book I would still recommend it to most people but you might want to buy them all in one go.

My fiancé is a Walking Dead fanatic!! So any chance I can, I try to get him the next book in the series. He loves these and I highly recommend them to any one who is also a fan.

This issue was great! I love how easy it is to collect every issue of The Walking Dead comics via these graphic novels. I would recommend them to anyone who loves using your imagination!

The graphic novel continues tonhave a grat story line; leaving you wanting more. The artwork is awesome too. Can’t wait for Volume 30!

I have all of these. I love how the covers line up. This one had a bit of a slow story line but left us on a cliffhanger. Can’t wait for the next one to come out.

I would give it five stars, but several of the pages misprinted and most of those misprinted pages are pretty much impossible to read as a result. Otherwise, this book was phenomenal just like the three compendiums before it.

‘The Walking Dead’ comics are very well written and the twists and turns feel earned, inevitable, and satisfying (unlike the excuse for a tv show adaptation of this series). The characters and situations they find themselves in/make for themselves are complex, just like human beings in real life.

And the messages within are thought provoking, interesting, and highly important and relevant to this real life time period (minus the zombies, unless you see those as a metaphor for how capitalist society is eating itself and taking everyone else – the entire planet – down with it).

All in all, this was a fantastic conclusion to the series. I highly recommend it to people who enjoyed the first three compendiums.

I am obsessed with the show, so I decided to read the comics. I went to Barnes and Noble to check out their selection and decided the best route was to purchase the compendiums. I had all but made up my mind (ready to spend $60 on C1) when something told me to check online.

I’m so happy I did! Walmart. com has the best price around! I was able to cut my expense almost in half. so I decided to go ahead and purchase Compendium 2 as well so that I’d qualify for free shipping.

I bought both for just a bit more than what I was going to pay for 1 at B&N! I received my purchase within a few days; much sooner than estimated. I will definitely purchase C3 from this site when I’m ready.

These “books” are a bit difficult to handle as far as actually trying to get comfortable to read them. I find it’s much easier to sit at a table to read as opposed to reading in bed. However, for the price, I’d absolutely recommend going this route.

The storyline is quite different from the show, and I think I enjoy the show better, but that may just be because I got so into the show first. But, it’s still a great read! I’ve never been really into comics, but it was pretty cool to have pictures to accompany the reading.

It took me a little while to get used to the flow of the comics, but once I did I’ve really enjoyed it! So overall, I’d say DO IT! Happy reading!.

This is the BEST series I’ve read in a VERY long time. I waited a long time to pick this series up because the idea of a monthly “zombie” book didn’t appeal to me very much. Plus, it was black and white and I didn’t see what the big deal would be.

But, after several people recommended it heavily and told me to give it a try, I finally started to come around. Then I started seeing the whispers of this being converted into a television show on AMC (slated for Fall of 2010) and would be directed/produced by one of my favorite directors, Frank Darabont.

I couldn’t very well refuse to give it a try if Mr. Darabont himself was going to be involved in a series. So I picked up the compendium and started in. It is immediately addictive! Kirkman’s writing is so conversational, its easy to skip right over the artwork and that would be a mistake! The artwork is great! The artist(s) changed between some of the chapters but the feel of the book remains constant throughout and the artwork gets even better as the book goes along! Its as if the team gets into the groove and create seamless scenes and dialogue spots and action points without ever looking disconnected.

That’s difficult to do without color! The greatest thing about this series (not just this one compendium) is that its ongoing. It doesn’t just show you a slice of life in the middle of a zombie apocalypse as so many movies have done in years past.

Instead, this shows us what we would probably do if it really happened! The human interactions are the best and there are so many emotional moments that the book becomes hard to read at times. There is attachment to these characters and their quest for survival.

Hats off to Kirkman, Adlard, Moore, Rathburn and Wooton. These guys have put together an AMAZING, heartfelt, emotional, gory, disgusting series and I can’t wait for more (and I can’t wait for the television series!!)!!.

The kids love this book because they play the game and they got a big kick out of being able to read a story about their favorite game.

These are awesome books. Like a hardcover comic book. Full color, glossy pages. Easy to read for the young ones.

I looooove this book! I am totally obsessed with Wings of Fire, and have not been disappointed with the new graphic novel versions. My only complaint about this book is that since most of the story takes place on a volcano, and most of the dragons are black, it can be a little hard to read.

But if you have a nice bright light to read it by, it’s fine!.

Got this for my 6 year old (very advanced reader) and he blazed through it. He can’t wait for the next graphic novel version to be released! So fun for getting kids to fall in love with reading. especailly if they are as dragon-obsessed as mine is!.

As with the other books in the series, my son loves this and all of them. I would recommend for young kids; both entertaining and encourages reading.

I’m not sure I’m whole-heartedly enthused by these books, but I have seen my nephew, who hates reading, sit for an hour to read them. He is 7 right now, but pretty much refuses to read for pleasure. It’s in comic book form so it isn’t full of paragraphs, but it helped get a stubborn kid to read some.

In the immediately preceding installments, Rick’s wandering band encountered another that was permanent and they were allowed to join. After some difficulties and some successes based on Rick’s decisions, Rick emerges as the leader of the entire group.

When the walls are breached by masses of the undead, the battle is “to the death,” with the living finally beating back the undead. As a consequence, Rick has an epiphany, where he now understands that if he and his band are to survive, they must stand and fight rather than remain constantly on the move.

In this volume, he explains his thoughts to the others and there is solid agreement as to the goal. Specific plans are made where a powerful team is sent to explore the immediate vicinity, looking for food, analyzing the environment and actively killing any undead they encounter.

While they do not find much food, the point now is to formulate a plan to extend their holdings and to fortify their defenses by creating moats and obstacles so that there can be no bunching up of the undead.

By actively killing any stragglers they find, their defense is to go on a limited offensive. There is a clear change in the tone of the story, there is a hope for the future within the group, although there is one more internal difficulty that must be handled.

The subtitle is apt, for now it is clear that the goal is no longer to survive but to rebuild civilization.

I’ve been wanting a Poison Ivy Rock Candy for such a long time!!! I’m so glad I got one! She’s really cute and the detailing is incredible – lot’s of tiny, tiny details in the paint job that are just perfect!.

I gave my mom all the paperback walking dead books up to vol 13 way before this was a huge tv show. As friends and her daughter, me, buy the volumes as they come to add to her collection. She says -ITS AWESOME.

My mom is 65. She loves these zombie comic books. A must have for die hard zombie lovers!.
