Almost everyone heard fables from their grandmother (or great-grandmother) while growing up that included lore about potions and substances that grant the possessor eternal youth. This story is not particular to your culture. In reality, this motif has existed for as long as we have been telling stories.

The elixir of life, the philosopher’s stone, and the fountain of youth are all similar tropes in ancient stories, pointing to man’s basal desire to extend his life as much as he can while living his best possible life.

The Epic of Gilgamesh, an epic from ancient Mesopotamia that is widely regarded as the earliest surviving notable literary work, contains a story on this search for eternal life.

This search for an elevated state of existence is unsurprising. Beating aging is an attractive premise to everyone. If this fabled idea were to manifest in the real world, there is no debate that few would decline the opportunity, and many would be willing to trade their fortunes for a taste.

However, while the formula for immortality remains elusive, “growth hormone-boosting” supplements like GenF20 Plus and Serovital HGH promise the next best thing.

These formulas claim to pack the right mix of nutrients necessary to stave off aging and help us live active, vibrant lives even late into the golden years. Is Serovital HGH the end-all to all your issues with aging?

What Is Serovital HGH?

Serovital offers a group of dietary supplements that aim to provide the ultimate formula for reducing and reversing all the natural wear that occurs in the body as we age. Serovital claims to be your best ticket to practical, reliable, and safe anti-aging action.

This renewal complex works to achieve its goal by targeting a fundamental aspect of human nervous function: the production and regulation of human growth hormone (HGH).

HGH is a core hormone produced by the pituitary gland that can play extended roles in growth, maturation, and aging.

During the early years of human development, the pituitary gland maintains a high production rate, ensuring that there is enough of the hormone in the bloodstream to stimulate growth in the childhood and adolescent years.

HGH, produced by the pituitary gland, is responsible for stimulating all the somatic growth, physical development, and sexual maturation that occurs in growing adults. This critical hormone also plays a vital role in regulating the body’s core properties like its composition, fluids, bone growth, muscle development, heart function, and fat metabolism, even far into adulthood.

The body’s ‘master gland’ maintains the high amount of HGH in circulating blood throughout this period of rapid growth, with levels only beginning to decline when the body reaches full adult size and attains most of its reproductive and physical maturation. This decrease then continues throughout adult life and ramps up as we age.

Consequently, aging adults have considerably lower HGH levels in their bloodstream, which can significantly impair physical function and stimulate the other morphological and functional changes that accompany aging.

The symptoms of aging—increase in adiposity, decrease in muscle mass, declining energy levels, and reduced libido—all resemble what you get in adults with HGH deficiencies. Hence, experts agree that it is a reasonable inference to connect the declining levels of HGH as a contributor to at least some of the symptoms of the natural aging process.

HGH boosters like Serovital aim to hijack this process by replenishing the body’s supply of the growth hormone. The plan is that an increase in HGH availability will help rejuvenate the body, reverse some of the effects of aging, and leave you looking and feeling more youthful.

However, unlike other treatments that use exogenous HGH, Serovital does not contain any HGH (see more on why in the next section), which may be harmful when used without proper medical guidance. Instead, this formula aims to naturally raise your HGH levels by providing you with a mix of amino acids, vitamins, and other particular nutrients purported to naturally stimulate and enhance the body’s production process of the hormone.

Using Exogenous HGH to Reverse Aging

We have established that the release of human growth hormone in older folks can help reinvigorate the body and reverse aging symptoms. So, why take a nutrient mix like Serovital instead of a formula containing an exogenous form of the hormone HGH?

The key is to understand the intricacies that come with HGH use.

Synthetic HGH was first developed in 1985, and since then, this exogenous HGH has played essential roles in the treatment of specific conditions in childhood, including:

  • Extreme short stature and undeveloped physique either as a baby, young child, or adolescent
  • Poor growth rate due to other underlying conditions
  • Turner’s syndrome
  • Prader-Willi syndrome
  • Chronic kidney disease
  • And HGH deficiencies

In adults, HGH injections can also be effective adjuncts for treating short bowel syndrome, HGH deficiencies that stem from pituitary tumors, and muscle-wasting diseases resulting from an HIV/AIDS infection.

For the uses mentioned above, the FDA gives express approval for the use of exogenous HGH under the guidance of a qualified professional. However, when it comes to using HGH for its potential anti-aging effect, things get pretty murky.

Tip:

In most other circumstances, HGH use is illegal in the U.S. However, HGH is still readily available from online sources (the FDA cannot adequately regulate that) and is a commonly sought substance on the black market.

While you can’t be arrested for off-regulation use of HGH, you do take on a considerable amount of risk by self-medicating on a substance deemed potentially dangerous by the FDA.

One of the main reasons why HGH is such a buzzword and (unsurprisingly) by far the most common use of exogenous HGH is improving physical performance. With these use cases, some folks pair HGH with anabolic steroids to enhance athletic performance and build muscles. In contrast, others use it as a way to improve physical condition and combat symptoms of aging.

These use cases have some scientific backing, as landmark studies, including this one by Rudman and colleagues in 1990 and another similar study in 1998, shows the possibility of dramatic beneficial effects from HGH therapy.

However, none of these use cases are approved by the FDA as there might be potential complications that can result from using exogenous HGH this way.

According to the FDA, some possible long-term side effects of non-standard use of exogenous HGH include increased risk factors for cancer, tumor growth, diabetes, elevated glucose and cholesterol levels, and nerve pain. Consequently, HGH use is heavily regulated by the FDA here in the U.S.

Serovital and other similar nutrient-based HGH-boosting supplements aim to bring all the positive benefits from increased HGH expression using any exogenous HGH and safeguard you from all the potential side effects.

To achieve this goal, Serovital does not contain any HGH. Instead, you get a mix of amino acids, minerals, and vitamins that can help stimulate the natural production of HGH while providing you with a host of other benefits.

The Serovital Solution

Instead of going the radical route with exogenous HGH, Serovital offers a more conservative approach. Here, the formula contains an assortment of essential amino acids that may improve hormonal health and boost HGH expression.

Info:

Serovital offers a complete line of anti-aging products, including modified versions of this formula, liquid, capsule, powder variants, anti-aging creams, and wrinkle serums.

These included amino acids are conditionally essential, meaning that the body does not produce them or only does so in limited supply. Hence their supply can significantly diminish as we grow older, and the systems that supply them become less efficient.

Amino acids can act as raw materials and catalysts that stimulate the production of core hormones (including HGH). The idea behind this formulation is to indirectly stimulate HGH production by reintroducing these building blocks into the bloodstream. Serovital also contains a host of other vitamins and minerals that could help to enhance overall well being significantly.

The manufacturer posits that their formula is well-rounded enough to provide aging folks with several potential benefits, including:

  • Reduction of fine lines and wrinkles
  • Boost in energy levels
  • Increased sex drive
  • Enhanced mood
  • Improved sleep
  • Reduced adiposity, enhanced weight loss
  • Augmentation of lean muscle mass development
  • Elevated HGH levels

Tip: Increasing HGH Naturally

You don’t have to take any supplements to boost HGH expression in the bloodstream. Several studies show that some healthy lifestyle changes can create a profound net-positive impact on HGH release in the body. These lifestyle HGH boosters include:

  • Losing body fat
  • Trying intermittent fasting
  • Cutting down sugar intake to prevent diabetes
  • Avoiding meals (especially high-protein and high-carb meals) too close to bedtime
  • Incorporating high-intensity exercises into your daily routine
  • Optimizing sleep

Serovital HGH: The Active Ingredients (and their effects)

Serovital anti-aging supplements include various products with varying formulas to match your specific nutrient needs and help you reach your lifestyle goals.

However, while you can get Serovital’s anti-aging supplements in a wide variety of branding options, you can group all of them into two main formula blends: the proprietary blend and the HGH-boosting renewal complex blend.

Both options include a vast slew of critical nutrients that can positively impact your overall wellbeing over time.

Proprietary Blend

The active ingredients included in the proprietary blend include:

  • Coffee bean extract — studies suggest that coffee bean extract contains some chlorogenic acids that act as antioxidant compounds that can produce a host of benefits including, improving cholesterol and blood pressure level, triggering weight loss, and boosting immune function.
  • Glucomannan — a dietary fiber from the root of the konjac plant that often features in Japanese and Chinese traditional medicine. Glucomannan may help with weight loss.
  • Chlorella — a form of highly nutritious green algae containing several different valuable nutrients, including vitamins, amino acids, proteins, peptides, nucleic acids, and sugars.
  • Keratin and collagen peptides — keratin peptides are the building blocks of hair, while collagen peptides play the same role for skin, cartilage, and bone. When taken orally, these compounds can strengthen your hair and skin, increase hydration, and improve elasticity.
  • Black seed oil — a plant seed extract with antioxidant properties that have been shown to boost immune function and reduce high cholesterol and blood pressure.
  • Olive leaf extract — olive leaf extract may help improve heart health and stimulate faster weight loss.
  • Alchemilla leaf extract — lady’s mantle leaf extract may help with weight loss.
  • Hyaluronic acid — one of the skin’s most important natural hydrating agents
  • Wild Mint leaf extract — a prophylactic and therapeutic essential oil that may help stave off disease and boost mood
  • Triticum aestivum seed extract

The Serovital proprietary blend also contains vitamins and minerals like Selenium, Vitamin D, Vitamin C, Riboflavin, Copper, and Zinc.

Renewal Complex Blend

The renewal complex blend is more amino acid-heavy as its primary goal is to boost HGH expressions in the blood.

Its main ingredients include L-glutamine, L-Arginine Hydrochloride, L-Lysine Hydrochloride, Schizonepeta powder, N-Acetyl L-Cysteine, and Oxo-Proline — all of which play crucial roles in ensuring hormonal stability, boosting the expression of critical hormones, improving immune health, enhancing metabolic activity, beefing up virility, and promoting overall wellbeing.

Does Serovital Work?

For many people, the first time they heard Serovital was from the airing of a 2012 episode of the Dr. Oz show. He investigated the validity of many of the top anti-aging products like HGH injections HGH-boosting formulas like Serovital.

Dr. Oz gave a favorable review of Serovital, quoting a test study that backs its claims of helping increase HGH expression in the bloodstream naturally.

Dr. Oz’s positive review of Serovital is one reason behind the initial fame of the product as it helped establish some credibility to its claims.

In this study, the researchers reported that the participants saw a massive 682% increase in HGH expression in their bloodstream just two hours after taking a Serovital oral supplement. The test included results from a sample size of 16 adults (4 women and 12 men) in their 30s. At first glance, this result indicates that Serovital may be effective for boosting HGH.

However, it is worthy of note that the study in question was conducted by SanMedica International, the company that produces Serovital. This setup indicates a potential conflict of interest and significantly reduces how much weight we can give its results.

The potential conflict of interest, the low number of participants, and the study participants’ extreme homogeneity all but invalidates this study. We do not have any confidence in the result and do not consider it a viable source of information on which to base your verdict of the product.

Plus, the study isn’t peer-reviewed, and there has been no further research to validate or falsify its claims.

Nevertheless, the reviews from the product’s customers do show some promise. Compared to most other HGH-boosting formulas, Serovital has some of the best ratings, averaging around 3.7-3.9 stars out of 5 on most platforms.

A large percentage of Serovital users reported significant positive effects from using the product. Common trends among the positive reviews include buyers saying improvements in mood, energy, and practical anti-aging effects, such as reducing wrinkles and brighter skin tones.

The result is unsurprising because Serovital contains an assortment of essential amino acids in which most people have potential deficiencies. Hence, adding such a well-rounded supplement to your routine can only add positive boosts to your overall well being.

However, on the flip side, we did find a slew of unsatisfied customers mostly complaining about experiencing little to no effects even after months of using the formula.

We also found a few reports of users experiencing minor side effects.

The best way to figure out if Serovital is for you is to try it. However, at around $100 for a month’s supply, this package isn’t cheap (another common gripe amongst many reviewers.)

Nevertheless, if it works for you, spending $112 a month for an added 20% boost in energy levels and mood seems like more than a fair trade. See if the formula works for you. You might be in for a more limitless life with this minor tweak.

However, if you do not notice any significant changes, we do not recommend burning your hole through your pocket every month with this one.

If you notice any side effects, you should discontinue using the product immediately and consult with your healthcare practitioner before getting back on Serovital or any other HGH-boosting supplement.

Side Effects and Safety Concerns

Although the ingredients included in the Serovital formula are all-natural and relatively tame, because of its potential impact on hormonal balance, there is still the possibility of a wide range of probable side effects.

Some of the most common side effects reported by buyers include:

  • Fatigue
  • Poor sleep
  • Stomach upset and pain
  • Constipation
  • Diarrhea
  • Bloating
  • Gout
